Strong Homes, Strong Families Announces Transition of Services to HopeBUILDERS
After six years of faithful service to families in need, Strong Homes, Strong Families today announced it will be winding down independent operations and transitioning its mission into the work of HopeBUILDERS.
Founded on the belief that safe and stable housing is foundational to strong communities, Strong Homes, Strong Families has served countless families by providing critical home repairs at no cost.
“This was not a decision made lightly,” said Karen Crnkovich, co-founder. “But it is the right one. We believe deeply in the mission and sometimes the best way to serve that mission is to recognize when we can go further, reach more people, and have greater impact by joining forces with a larger, more established organization.”
HopeBUILDERS, with its expanded infrastructure and resources, is well-positioned to carry this work forward and amplify its reach across the community.
Strong Homes, Strong Families extends its deepest gratitude to:

HopeBUILDERS, founded in 2000, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping neighbors live safely and independently in their homes. Through critical home repairs and accessibility modifications, the organization serves low-income homeowners, particularly older adults and individuals with disabilities, across Jackson County, Missouri and Johnson and Wyandotte County, Kansas. The organization completed 519 projects in 104 homes in 2025.
