This family’s home is overflowing and so are their hearts.

Every kid deserves a Halloween costume.

On Saturday, kids in foster care got to pick out their very own!

Each year, our amazing partner, Amy DeMage of BJ’s Bootique donates costumes in honor of her late husband, who always loved Halloween.

The fun continued with 20 decorated trunks, the fire department, and the police department for trunk or treat.

Thank you to Home State Health, every volunteer, sponsor, and partner who made this day possible!

Beautiful morning for the KCMO Angels costume event and trunk or treat. This wonderful, NKC-based organization supports families in the foster care space. Today, they helped provide Halloween costumes for kids who may not have been able to afford them.

Also, loved seeing the North Kansas City Fire Department and the City of North Kansas City Police Department show up for these kiddos! Remember... "It's not a party until the cops show up!"

“I’m actually really glad I signed up to mentor.”

When you sign up to be a mentor, you hope to make a difference. What you don’t always expect is how much it will enrich your own life, too.

As a former youth in foster care now navigating life as a new mom to twins, she knew she needed extra support. Shortly after, she was matched with a mentor and the two of them instantly clicked!

Their bond has grown into a meaningful friendship. The mentor recently shared an update with us saying how grateful she is that she made the decision to step up and mentor. These are the updates we LOVE to hear!

• LOVE BOX LEADER NEEDED •

There are 23 families on our Love Box waitlist right now and this photo represents just one of them. Every single day, that list grows.

When no one else stepped up, this single caregiver opened her heart and her front door. Today, she is raising six children in her home. Six kids who didn’t start out as hers biologically, but who are loved, held, and cherished by her every single day.

She gives everything she has. Now, we’re looking for someone to stand alongside her.
