“I could never have kept fostering without them.”
Fostering is beautiful, but it can also be incredibly heavy. When one local foster mama faced a sudden, unexpected divorce mid-journey, the statistics said her foster home should have closed.
But she had a secret weapon: Robin and Leslie.
These two best friends didn't just sign up to volunteer; they signed up to be a lifeline. While the world felt like it was shifting, Robin and Leslie were the "village" that stayed put. They walked alongside this family for three years—through the transitions, the court dates, and the chaos—until those children reached their "forever" through adoption.
Did you know that 50% of foster homes close after just one year? Often, it’s not because the families stop caring—it’s because they run out of support. In KCMO, there are 2,000 kids in care, and our goal is to make sure every single one of them has a village like Robin and Leslie.
You don’t have to do this alone. In fact, it’s better when you don't.
