Been a while since this was last updated. I've been away because of the massive MAGA bot problem here on Facebook.
Anyways, I wanted to say that the Kansas City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America will have monthly meetings at Bear Necessities Coffee + Bar on the last Saturdays of the month. For February, it's the 28th. Definitely check that out when you can. They post their other meetings on their calendar via their website, btw.

In light of everything happening today, I feel this is the time to post about our next steps: grow our community, gather, talk to each other, share, and organize. We are stronger together. We are so much more alike than we are different and division tactics will not be tolerated. We need to move as a unit. Stay strong. Chin up. We have friends all around us and the world supports us. Do not despair. You matter and you are worth everything. If anything, continue going forward out of spite simply because there are people who will cheer as your disappearance. You're needed and loved. Gather here if necessary so we can gather in person. I'll be reaching out to people in the community myself.
Things will be okay. We are strong and we are powerful. Channel your despair into anger and do something about it to create change for a better world. Anger and destruction are valid forms of existence and they are vital to peace and creation.

Some basic truths about employment. When studies show that the best way to get a raise, is to quit and get a new job, then you know companies don't reward loyalty (and no, this isn't just going from fast food to an office job, this is within industries/professions even)

This is a local charity in Houston that feeds people high quality meals. Completely donation run and volunteers are never compensated for their time, gas, and resources. They keep getting fines from the city for feeding the hungry and could also use help paying the fines, which is over $10,000 right now. You can also help with their mutual aid and buy things like feminine bags, sweatpants, to-go boxes, sporks, emergency thermal blankets, etc on their site and it'll go directly to people who need it.
