Beginning the New Year, leaving cancer behind.
We’ve been very open about Jordan’s battle with cancer and mental health, so here is more of our story.
In September, Jordan went in for his routine CT scan. After further testing and more scans through October, we found out Jordan had cancer again in his right groin after being cancer free for a little over 3 years. This is his 3rd reoccurrence with sarcoma. The cancer had mutated around the systematic treatment he has been on since March of 2022. With his team of doctors, we decided to do radiation, start on the 3rd generation of the oral chemo he has been taking, and have surgery to remove the tumor.
This news is never easy. It affects the way we move through the world. It affects our life. It hit us like a ton of bricks when we thought we were past that chapter.
As we move through life, we ebb and flow with what is thrown at us. You either face it head on, or you coward down. For me, this never gets easier. I’ve worked hard to become the woman, wife, and mother I am. News like this knocks me back, sometimes making me feel like I cannot handle it.
As we’ve always said, you never know the challenges people are facing around you. Be kind. A stranger or a friend, someone is carrying something heavy you cannot even see.
Jordan had surgery to remove his cancer on Monday and is on his road to recovery. Surgery went well and we’re hoping for a quick recovery. We hope sarcoma is gone for good.
We aren’t carrying this burden alone. We have a huge group of support coming from every part of our life. It means so much. If you’ve helped, reached out, sent gifts and donations, etc. You know who you are. We thank you.🙏❤️🩹🎗️
