ANNOUNCEMENT...
On July 1, 2025, Hearing Charities of America (HCOA) officially merges with Sertoma, cementing its Hearing Aid Project (HAP) as the signature hearing health program of Sertoma International. Founded in 1912, Sertoma is one of the oldest service organizations in the world. HCOA has been a nonprofit subsidiary organization of Sertoma since its inception in 2007, and the legal merger allows HCOA to do what it does best - focus on providing hearing aids to those who cannot otherwise afford them.
Programmatically, nothing changes. HAP will continue to receive donated hearing aids and related supplies, refurbishing and redistributing them to low-income individuals at no cost through a network of hearing health professionals. 100% of monetary contributions will continue to support the program. The merger will reduce overhead and redundancy and enable HAP to more efficiently provide services for those in need.
Sertoma has been dedicated to addressing speech and hearing issues since the early 1970s, and the merger will enable HAP to continue its significant growth through partnerships on both national and international levels.
Please visit our website at www.hearingaiddonations.org for more information about receiving or donating hearing aids, making a financial contribution, or becoming a hearing health partner of Hearing Aid Project.
For those who require assistive devices, economics shouldn’t be a barrier to hearing health. Driven by the missions of organizations like Sertoma and Hearing Charities of America, and through the generosity of so many others, hearing aids are now available to those who might otherwise go without.
