Heroes among us went out to Council Groves to participate in the H3 America, Veterans Fishing Tournament. It was a Bass fishing Tournament. The weather started out terrible but didn't affect the fisherman at all. Can't help but to give credit to CSM Jim Crosby for all his hard work in the community and for his dedication to fishing. The fishing gods were watching and took real good care of him! It really turned out to be a great day. Once they were done and trophies were awarded, they provided a delicious barbeque lunch! Providing support to our different associations is key in helping those in need. They may not know of your particular help, but by working together we can help even more. Heroes Among Us works through the Greater KC Veterans Coalition. They have an abundant amount of groups that help in the greater Kansas City area.

Friday Sept 11 we had our annual golf tournament at Dubs Dred Golf Course. It was a beautiful day and we had a full house of golfers for our fundraiser to help Active, Veterans, and First Responders. Our Sole purpose is to provide assistance to the Men and Women who patriotically and voluntarily risked all to provide the defense of our freedom and country. We are not a national organization. We support those Veterans, active service and First responder that reside in Kansas an Missouri area. The thing that sets us apart from the others is that we are fast in getting the support to those who need it. We don't take weeks and months to get things done. In many cases the support is handled within 24 hrs. We are all in Heroes Among Us Donors as well. Not one of us take a salary or compensation by no means, that way we can utilize nearly 100 percent goes back to the people that need the help! Go to our site haumidwest.org and be a part of a group that makes a difference! Please help us by Donating!!!

Today marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11 terrorist destruction of the Twin Towers in New York, the Pentagon, and an empty field in Pennsylvania. Today Heroes Among Us had our 9th annual Golf Tournament, to keep this event current in our busy everyday activities. 25 years ago, we all stated that we would not forget. Today about 38 percent of our younger generation have no clue as to what happened. These numbers are staggering for those of us that graduated in the 70’s. Our biggest event was Pearl Harbor and to me still is as important as anything in regards to our history. We honored this date! Our mission revolves around the very essence of this event. We raise money to assist our First Responders, Veterans, and Active Service in times of need! We are a small group but extremely fast in our assistance.
