The Royals' Salute to Service game honored 40 veterans, police officers, and firefighters through Heroes Among Us. A tailgate party was held, where Bill and I cooked burgers and hot dogs for the attendees. The heat was intense. We initially set up in one area, only to be directed to relocate, necessitating a teardown and re-setup in another area.

This week has seen considerable activity, with our team facilitating the acquisition of a service dog for a veteran. We also assisted a soldier, who was participating in a two-week annual training prior to active duty, after receiving news that his father had deceased in Nigeria, helping him to arrange his journey home. Additionally, we are providing support to a nurse at the Topeka VA, a veteran himself, who is dealing with vehicle troubles where the repair costs exceed the vehicle's value, guiding him through this crisis. To make these things happen it takes people that want to make a difference. A few pictures from tonight’s race at Valley Speedway, Grain Valley MO. It was an awesome experience. They had 25 laps and for each lap they had a sponsor. Each lap sponsor went toward a generous donation.

All preparations are complete for the races tonight. We were privileged to receive an invitation to the Salute to Service race, which included a donation component for each lap that filled up remarkably quickly, in just 2 days. We are thankful for the selection.

This Friday…we salute our veterans!

This Friday, June 19th, Valley Speedway plays host to the 4th points race of the Wholesale Batteries, Inc. USAC MRA Sprint Car Series season. This event will be known as the “Salute To Service Showdown”.

Thanks to so many incredible lap sponsors, we’ll be donating $1250 to Heroes Among Us Midwest.

Heroes Among Us will also be in attendance and ready to give you more information and/or collect donations if you’re able.

Spectator gates open: 6pm
Hot Laps: 6:30pm
Racing: 7pm
