Sleep in Heavenly Peace KCSE - Bedding Fundraiser
Last year, Elaina was granted her wish to help Transform the Lives of Those in Need. The Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Kansas City Community helped her spend the day giving back to 15 local non-for-profit organizations and KC Mayor Quinton Lucas proclaimed that April 20th, 2022, to be Elaina’s Wish Day. As Elaina would say, it was “A Great Day”.
This year, Elaina wants to continue her mission to help others and chose to partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SIHP). This non-for-profit organization is dedicated to building, assembling, and delivering beds to children in need. In 2022 they built and delivered 550 beds in the Kansas City area and are projecting to do 850 in 2023.
No bed is complete without bedding, so Elaina would like to help provide cute bedding to go along with each child’s new bed. Imagine the children’s smiles when they receive their new bed and their own new bedding sets to snuggle up in.
Elaina’s initial goal is to collect 40 twin bedding sets. She wants to partner up with the Cure of Ars 8th grade class that built 40 beds for their class service project last week. This amazing event culminates with the students’ delivering beds to families in their homes at the end of April. It would be amazing to have fun bedding to go along with this and put some extra big smiles on children’s faces.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a 100% volunteer organization dedicated to building, assembling, and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need.
The U.S. has too many boys and girls go without a bed – or even a pillow – to sleep on. These children end up sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors. This can affect their happiness and health. We fully believe that a bed is a basic need for the proper physical, emotional, and mental support that a child needs.
If a child needs a bed, we want to make sure they get one. No kid sleeps on the floor in our town!
