Everybody knows John 3:16. But do you know who Jesus said it to?

It wasn’t a crowd on a mountaintop. It was a respected religious leader who showed up in the dark.

In our latest message, we dig into the “dark side” of John 3:16 and the question most of us avoid:

What am I unwilling to lose to step into the light?

Maybe it’s your reputation. Your ministry. Your schedule. Your sense of being the one who has it all together.

Where are you hiding right now? 👇

What if the things we're hiding are the very things God is inviting us to bring into the light?

From the beginning, when Adam and Eve hid in the garden, we've had a tendency to cover up the parts of ourselves we don't want anyone to see.

Our fears. Our insecurities. Our struggles. Sometimes we're so good at hiding that we don't even recognize what's beneath the surface.

But Jesus came as the Light of the World, inviting us to live differently.

In this week's message, **"Illumination and Invitation,"** we're talking about what it really means to live as children of light.

Not just believing in Jesus, but allowing His light to reach every part of our lives.

That takes courage. It takes trust. And it takes having people in our lives who will walk alongside us with honesty, grace, and love.

**You don't have to tell everybody. But you need somebody.**

And here's the beautiful truth: We don't have to keep hiding in darkness to protect ourselves. We can trust God to hold us as we step into His light.

What if we've been looking at salvation all wrong?

God didn't hand us a ladder and tell us to climb our way out of sin, suffering, and death.

He stepped right into the middle of it.

Jesus came to where we are. He entered our brokenness, carried what we deserved, and took it upon Himself.

That's what makes the Gospel so extraordinary. We couldn't climb our way to Him, so He came to us.

❤️ That's not just justice. That's incredible love and grace.
What does it mean to you that Jesus came to where we are?

You can't tell you're flying upside down until you crash. 🛩️

In week 1 of Children of Light, we're walking through the Gospel of John, and it starts with a question most of us have never asked: what if the way you've been living, thinking, and believing is flipped upside down?

Most people run life on one of two systems:
⚖️ Justice: you get what you deserve
🕊️ Mercy: you don't get what you deserve

But John shows us a third: grace, where justice and mercy meet at the cross. Jesus took what we deserved and gave us what we never could earn.

Christianity isn't self-improvement. It's a radical transfer of trust to Jesus.

Do you believe that if you go, **He will show?**

God has done it before.

Abraham didn’t receive every detail before he moved. Neither did Philip.

Throughout Scripture, we see the same pattern: **God asks for obedience, and then He reveals what’s next.**

Maybe there’s a reason God doesn’t show us His entire plan at once. We’d probably be overwhelmed by everything ahead.

Instead, He asks us to trust Him with one thing.

One step.
One yes.
One act of obedience at a time.

You don't have to see the whole road to follow God.

**Take the step He’s given you today and trust Him with what comes next.**
