Seriously, how could anyone resist this handsome guy?!

Marcus is walking around with that big ol’ smile, a gorgeous coat, and absolutely no idea what a catch he is!

He’s the kind of guy who’s up for just about anything. A little running around? Sounds fun! An afternoon hanging out on the couch? Even better! He’s got that wonderful balance of playful and laid-back that makes him such an easy guy to love.

And if you happen to give him some extra attention? Well, you’ve pretty much made his entire day. 🥰

He’s sweet as can be, loves people, and gets along great with other dogs!

The only thing missing from Marcus’s picture-perfect smile is a family to call his own. And we sure hope someone falls for this handsome face soon! ❤️

Xena has officially decided she’s ready for the good life. 💕🐾

Her wish list is pretty simple: a yard to run around in, people to love, plenty of playtime, and a cozy place to relax when the fun is over. She enjoys playing chase with her dog friends, but she’s just as happy soaking up time with her favorite humans.

It’s hard to believe this joyful girl was once found crammed into a backyard crate with two other dogs. Her world may have started out far too small, but Xena hasn’t let that dim her happy, loving spirit. 🥹

Now she’s ready for a fresh start with a family who will give her all the fun, freedom, and love she’s been missing. Xena does well with other dogs but needs a feline-free home.

Her past is behind her. The good life is waiting—she just needs someone to bring her home. 💖

Who needs a man in a suit when you can have Spot in a tuxedo?! 🥹❤️

Seriously, this handsome fella is quite the catch!

With his perfectly dressed tuxedo coat, big squishy head, twinkly eyes, and the sweetest little smile, Spot looks like he’s ready to charm his way right into someone’s heart!

And trust us, his personality is just as adorable as that face. 🥰

Spot is a mellow, easygoing guy who loves people and absolutely soaks up affection. He’s always happy to join you for a little adventure, but his favorite plans probably involve being close to his humans and getting plenty of cuddles.

He’s also good with other dogs!

All dressed up with nowhere to go… unless someone gives this sweet boy a home of his very own! ❤️

BAKLAVA HAS ENTERED HIS HAPPY BOY ERA! 🥹🐾

And judging by that big goofy smile, we think he’s enjoying every minute of it!

When Baklava first came to us in August, he was a timid little guy who wasn’t quite sure what to make of the world. But one thing he knew for sure? He loved being held. Give him a lap to curl up in, and he was one happy boy. ❤️

Fast forward to today, and just LOOK at him!

Baklava has discovered that life is actually pretty fun! He’s silly, playful, curious, and loves meeting new people. He’s been showing off his personality at adoption events, making friends, and soaking up all the attention he can get. And yes, he’s still just as sweet and snuggly as ever!

Baklava was one of more than 80 dogs rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation, but his past isn’t what we want his story to be about. It’s everything waiting for him next.

He’s been waiting since August, and we think it’s about time this happy little guy got to experience his very own happily ever after.

Someone out there needs a little Baklava in their life! 🥰

💜 Violet has one very important question: when does she get a family of her own? I mean, look at that face! 🥹

This sweet girl loves being with her people. She’s always up for a walk by your side, then some cuddles when you’re back home. Add a stuffy or two, and Violet’s having a pretty great day. 😂 She’s also good with other dogs and has so much love to share.

Violet is heartworm positive, but her treatment is fully covered. She just needs a soft place to land while she gets through it. Once treatment is complete, she can enjoy a normal, healthy life with no restrictions.

A walking buddy, a cuddle pal, and a stuffy enthusiast—could Violet be your girl? 🐾

Imagine being dumped beside the railroad tracks—left completely alone, crying in severe pain, with no way of knowing if anyone was coming to help you. 💔

That was Bezos.

He was found along Kaw Drive with a skin infection so severe that he was bleeding and missing much of his fur. When Jenny, our vet tech, began assessing him, Bezos simply melted into her. It felt like he finally realized someone was there to help him… and possibly like it was the first time anyone had ever truly cared for him. 🥹

But now look at him! His skin has healed, his beautiful coat has grown back, and he’s finally feeling as wonderful as he looks. 🩵

Bezos adores people, loves kids, and does well with other dogs. He is curious about cats, so he would just need a slow introduction. More than anything, he wants to be close to his people—following them from room to room, leaning in for cuddles, and soaking up all the love he can get.

Someone once left Bezos behind as though he didn’t matter. Now we need someone to show him that he always did. 🥹🩵

Bezos is a 2 year old Pit Bull Mix that weighs 50 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested and dewormed. His adoption fee is sponsored for the best home for him!

🌸 Shania would like to conduct a quick interview for the position of “Her Person.” Please answer honestly:

Do you have a couch?
Do you give excellent belly rubs?
Are you okay with being followed to the bathroom?
Could you use 37 pounds of pure happiness in your life?

If you answered yes, Shania thinks you sound highly qualified. 😂🩷

This goofy, affectionate girl loves kids, enjoys making doggy friends, and can live with cats after a proper introduction. She arrived at the shelter painfully thin, but look at her now—healthy, happy, and wearing the biggest smile!

When Diego came to us this sweet boy was absolutely terrified of the world around him. He was so scared that he couldn’t even walk on a leash. Everywhere he needed to go, someone had to carry him.

But even then, Diego had the sweetest little heart. He might have been afraid of the world, but he sure wasn’t afraid of cuddles! He’d happily sit in your lap and soak up every bit of love you were willing to give. ❤️

Diego was one of the 80+ dogs rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. His first year of life was spent in a filthy, overcrowded home where food was scarce and going outside wasn’t even an option.

And look at this handsome boy now!

Since August, Diego has gained weight, learned to walk on a leash, and started coming out of his shell. He’s gentle, affectionate, wonderful with other dogs, and getting more confident as he discovers that life has some pretty great things to offer!

But there’s one thing Diego still hasn’t gotten to experience… having a family of his very own. 🥹

We’d love to see this sweet boy trading shelter life for lazy mornings on the couch, walks around the neighborhood, and a person who loves him more than anything.

Diego has already come such a long way, and we have a feeling the best version of him is still waiting to come out.

He just needs someone to give him that chance. ❤️

👻 It's Trunk or Treat for the DOGS! 👻

The kitties will get treats delivered to them. 🎃

Friends of KCK Animal Services is treating our shelter animals to their first REAL Halloween! We have their treat bags, treat bowls, and costumes ready. We just need stuff to fill the bowls.
