On this date in 1920, the Kansas City Slide Co. placed an ad in The Kansas City Star looking for cartoonists. It is this very ad that resulted in both Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks being hired by A.V. Cauger, where they helped to produce short animated advertisements as shown in movie theatres. Inspired by the possibilities of this industry, in just 2 short years Walt incorporated his very own Laugh-O-gram Films in Kansas City.
