It’s NOT okay to dump large items at a business’s dumpster. Their dumpster company WILL NOT take these items. What is the business owner supposed to do now? If you are the culprit, please retrieve your trashed out mattress and coffee table from behind Tarahumaras at 6th and Sandusky.

🌟 Strawberry Hill Neighbors: We Need Your Project Ideas! 🌟

In two weeks, youth from across the country will be in Kansas City for The Challenge 2026 youth conference. Designed for students entering 7th grade through recently graduated 12th graders, this national biennial event blends elements of a traditional camp, a mission trip, and a spiritual conference. Service is the cornerstone of the experience.

As part of their service efforts, a group of 100 youth volunteers will be spending time right here on Strawberry Hill, giving back to our neighborhood through community service projects.

These young people, working alongside their chaperones and neighborhood volunteers, can help with projects such as:
✅ Yardwork and landscaping✅ Small painting projects✅ Sidewalk and curb weeding✅ Minor exterior home repairs (materials must be provided)✅ Other community improvement projects

Do you live on Strawberry Hill (between Central and Minnesota Ave. and 4th to 7th St.) and have a project you are unable to complete due to age, financial hardship, or physical limitations? If so, we would love to hear from you.

To submit a project for consideration, please email Protect Coordinator, Nancy Chartrand at: [email protected] by 5:00 PM on July 7. Please be sure to include:• A description of the project• The property address• Your name and daytime phone number
• Basis for the need• Photos, if available

You may also:🏡 Submit ideas for improvements to public spaces or ❤️ nominate a neighbor in need (with their permission.)

July can be hot, and we are also looking for neighbors willing to help by shuttling between project sites to deliver water and snacks. IF you’d like to help on one or both of the days, please drop a note in the comments below or email Nancy.

This is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact on Strawberry Hill while welcoming young people who have chosen to spend part of their summer serving others. Thank you for helping us make our neighborhood shine!

(Please note: We will do our best to accommodate as many projects as possible, so submit as soon as possible.)

Thank you to the nearly 500 Crawlers who participated in yesterday’s 10th Annual Strawberry Hill Pub Crawl! The record attendance means that we raised a record amount of approximately $21,000 towards the beautification and preservation of our neighborhood.

What does that mean? Well for starters being able to install more of our new branded trash cans throughout the neighborhood; ongoing maintenance of our Memorial Garden and Diehl Orchard; and new, expanded efforts to address strays and assist residents of Thill Hill with spay/neuter services.

We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and made it home safely before Mother Nature very dramatically announced last call. Special thank you to our sponsors and most of all, our 11 participating bars! We hope you agree that we have some of the friendliest bars around and that you will return to The Hill soon to pay them a visit!

If you have a fun story or photo from yesterday, please drop them in the comments below. If you are interested in sponsorship or swag opportunities for the 2027 Crawl, please private message us! Make sure to follow our special Strawberry Hill Pub Crawl Page here on Facebook for the announcement of next year’s date!

Pictured below are members of the Munjak/Kohler family posing on the lanes at St. John’s Catholic Club - because the family that crawls together…well they have a great time!

Concerned about the weather for tomorrow’s Strawberry Hill Pub Crawl?

We were too, but faster than you can say “Tonganoxie Split” (if you know, you know) the one, the only, Gary Lezak provided us with a special Pub Crawl Forecast - and it’s looking pretty good!

Thanks Gary!

ONe more sleep!
