Krista’s AFA journey helped her see investing in herself was just as important as investing in her career. Growing up on her family’s row crop farm in northeast Missouri, she already knew she wanted a future in agriculture. AFA helped her grow beyond technical knowledge by strengthening her communication, leadership, relationship-building and confidence alongside other students finding their place in the industry.

Today, Krista is a Production Contracts and Seasonal Labor Specialist for Bayer Crop Science. For 17 years, her career has spanned technical operations, project and program management, change management, continuous improvement and talent development. Beyond her day-to-day work, Krista is passionate about developing people, building strong teams and creating opportunities for others to grow, including through her leadership in women’s networks across agriculture.

AFA is looking for industry professionals attending National FFA Convention to spend time with us and connect with students exploring what their future in agriculture could look like.

You don’t have to be an AFA alum. You don’t need a sales pitch. You just need a willingness to show up, have a conversation and help a young person make a meaningful industry connection.

Day ✌️ AFA Food Systems Institute!

From industry tours with the companies making an impact in the food system to roundtable discussions with leaders in the industry, students were busy understanding how the food system works, cultivating relationships and discovering careers within the sector.

Celebrating Lance Reynolds’ Voice!

Lance’s AFA journey began as a Community Scholar while he was a student at the Mizzou College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, where he studied agricultural economics. Through AFA, he attended Leaders Conference all four years, served on the AFA Advisory Team and completed three internships that helped shape his path in agriculture, finance and leadership. Those experiences gave Lance mentorship, meaningful connections and a deeper understanding of how investing in people can change the course of a life.

Today, Lance serves as a Financial Advisor and Regional Leader with Edward Jones, leading 75 financial advisor teams across Central Missouri and supporting families and business owners, many connected to agriculture and agribusiness. He continues to give back by chairing the Cooper County AFA Community Scholarship committee and helping endow the scholarship that first introduced him to AFA, creating opportunities for future generations of leaders.
