👹 YŌKAI SPOTLIGHT – OKIKU 👹

One of Japan’s most famous ghost stories begins with a missing plate.

Okiku was a servant falsely accused of losing one of ten valuable dishes. After refusing her master’s advances, she was thrown into a well and killed.

Now her spirit is said to rise from the well at night, counting the plates aloud:

“One… two… three…”

When she reaches nine, she lets out a horrifying scream.

This legend inspired countless Japanese horror stories and is considered one of the earliest classic ghost tales in Japan.

We have an announcement.

For the first time in four years, our team will not be conducting a ghost hunt this autumn due to our current financial situation. We also do not have any events planned at this time, nor are we planning to attend any paranormal conventions this year.

While this is disappointing, we remain optimistic about the future. We are already making plans for next year’s investigations and look forward to getting back out into the field.

In the meantime, our focus will shift to our YouTube channel. We currently have 15 investigation videos waiting to be edited and uploaded, so there is plenty of content still to come as we work to catch up and share more of our adventures with you.

👹 YŌKAI SPOTLIGHT – NOPPERA-BŌ 👹

You see someone standing alone at night.
Everything seems normal… until they turn around.

No eyes.
No nose.
No mouth.

Noppera-bō (のっぺら坊) are faceless spirits that disguise themselves as ordinary people before revealing their blank appearance to terrify victims.

Most legends say they don’t physically attack.
They simply want fear.

And honestly? That might be worse.

What would scare you more: a violent spirit… or one that only watches?

Thank You, McInteer Villa

For a few years, the 1889 McInteer Villa was more than just a stop on our paranormal journey. It was a place filled with history, mystery, and memories that our team will never forget.

We spent countless hours exploring its halls, investigating its rooms, and experiencing moments that challenged, surprised, and inspired us. Some nights were quiet. Some nights were unforgettable. Every visit added another chapter to our story.

As many of you know, the Villa has changed ownership, and it appears unlikely that we’ll be returning anytime soon. While that’s difficult to accept, we’re grateful for the opportunities we had to investigate such a remarkable location.

Thank you to everyone who followed our adventures there, shared your experiences, and supported our work. Most importantly, thank you to the McInteer Villa itself for the memories.

Though our investigations there may have come to an end, the stories, evidence, friendships, and experiences will remain with us forever.

Goodbye, McInteer Villa. You’ll always be a special part of our journey. 👻

👹 YŌKAI SPOTLIGHT – BAKENEKO 👹

What if your house cat wasn’t really… just a cat?

Bakeneko (化け猫) are supernatural cats said to transform after living long enough or growing too large. Some walk on two legs, speak human language, or even control the dead.

In old legends, people feared cats watching them too closely at night… believing a spirit might already be hiding behind their eyes.

Some stories say a Bakeneko can replace its owner entirely without anyone noticing.

Four years ago, TSPS was launched.

Hello everyone! Welcome to T.S.P.S! It stands for The Signing Paranormal Seekers.

Currently, it’s a one-person team, but is looking for one or two more people who know ASL and are interested in ghost hunting.

We will focus on finding the answers for the paranormal world, helping the people, and educate ourselves and the world.

This will be an nonprofit organization, but I’ll set up donations someday.
