I’m honored to announce that I will be a first-time speaker at the 3rd Annual Queen’s Table Event, hosted by Broken 2 Bless, on Saturday, May 30, 2026! 👑

Whether you’re headed to a:

You are eligible to apply.
If you’ve shown leadership, service, and a desire to make a difference, this is your opportunity.

The Future Teachers of Excellence Fellowship is hosting a virtual info session on Tuesday, May 19 at 5 pm ET to share how a $5,000 annual scholarship can support the journey from student to educator.

Congrats to Soror Carla J. Gunner on her retirement. A few days ago, friends, family, & colleague gathered to celebrate her 31 years as a Special Education Teaching Professional across two (2) different districts.

Her commitment to students who are often othered, made to feel invisible, or relegated to feeling as if they are a burden should be celebrated.

Thanks, Soror, for pouring your heart and soul into multiple generations of OUR students. 👩🏿‍🏫❤️💛

Congratulations to our Soror Jacquinta Nelson for completing the Community Entrepreneurship Program at the UMKC Bloch School and the Regnier Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

I was on KCTV5 News Kansas City today talking about the reading gap in Kansas City. The numbers are hard to hear, AND they're not new to me.

Many of you know I spent 15 years in the classroom watching this play out. That experience is why I founded Dreams KC.

We train parents. We provide decodable books. We partner with schools and districts. Because the children aren't the problem, and neither are their families. Families just need the tools. That's what we do.
