Just had this fun old picture come up on my memories. This was during the making of Pirates of the Caribbean at Disney when it was an animated film. one of the best days of my career was getting to meet Marc Davis and his wife and then walk around in both Pirates and Haunted Mansion behind the scenes at Disneyland.

Friends that worked on Iron Giant or love that movie, PLEASE look at this reel and see how amazing this is. This studio made a puppet out of Hogarth with new tech that has preprogrammed facial expressions and blending to match the film! Staggering tech for a puppet. In the end I'm still asking why? Why not do it in 3D? What is the gain? Opinions? Look in the second half of the reel it's really cool.
