KAA-MaCC & Hood Theological Seminary Thank Phenomenal African-American Women in Politics!

Dear Phenomenal Cabarrus-Rowan African-American Women in Politics:

On behalf of all attendees of our recent panel discussion, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each of you for your remarkable contributions. Your wisdom, passion, and commitment have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of hearing your words.

Special thanks to our esteemed moderator, Dean Patricia Timmons-Goodson, whose skillful guidance ensured that our discussion was both enlightening and impactful. Your leadership set the tone for an engaging and thought-provoking conversation.

Mayor Barbara Mallett (Town of East Spencer), Former Mayor Mary Ponds (Town of Granite Quarry), Former Mayor Alvena Heggins (City of Salisbury), Council Member Jeanne Dixon (City of Kannapolis), Council Member-Retired Ella Mae Small (City of Concord), and Council Member LaTrecia Glover (Town of Harrisburg), your insights into the challenges faced by African-American women in politics, both historically and in the present day, were eye-opening. Your courage in navigating these challenges and your unwavering dedication to serving your communities are truly inspiring.

Through your words, you helped us to understand the progress that has been made, while also highlighting the ongoing need for representation, inclusion, and support for African-American women in political leadership roles. Your voices are essential in shaping policies, addressing systemic inequalities, and advancing the interests of marginalized communities.

As we celebrate Women's History Month and beyond, let us continue to amplify the voices of African-American women in politics and work together toward a future where they are fully empowered to lead and thrive.

Thank you once again for your leadership, your courage, and your unwavering commitment to making our communities stronger and more just for all.

With deepest gratitude,

Jacqueline Anthony
