September 28 - 5 p.m.
A team of Kannapolis firefighters, along with hundreds of area emergency personnel, have been in the mountains over the last couple of days helping rescue people and have seen first-hand the catastrophic damage. As you have heard there is no power, water, access to food, and limited communications in most of this area of the state.
Emergency responders are working around the clock to help people, but they need help as well. Kannapolis Firefighters and Police Officers (Kannapolis Public Safety Assistance Foundation 501c3) are teaming up to help with the immediate needs of emergency personnel who have gone to the mountains to help and for those who live with their families in Western North Carolina.
Emergency personnel have no time or little access to food. We are collecting supplies and food that can be distributed quickly to all emergency personnel over the next few days when they have time for a break.
If you would like to help - please bring your donations to Kannapolis Fire Station #1 (300 Firehouse Drive) and Fire Station #5 (2046 Barr Road).
Our goal is to take the first truckload as soon as possible.
Items Needed:
Water, sports drinks, hydration packs, bug spray, sunscreen, plastic utensils, trash bags, non-perishable foods, energy bars, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, paper products, toothpaste, toothbrushes, single serving snacks, and sanitizer wipes.
Thank you!
