One of Kanab's senior citizens got scammed big time! Local law enforcement only caught the low-level courier from California. Hopefully the FBI is investigating the international crime organization behind these big phone scams.

If you have senior neighbors, talk to them and warn them about these phone scams.

Police say a California man has been charged after allegedly traveling to Kanab to collect $72,000 in gold as part of a "gold courier scam."

Investigators say scammers posing as federal agents convinced a senior citizen to wire money and purchase gold before Singh was arrested during a sting operation.

Election Message from Kane County Taxpayers Association:

Vote Matthew Cox for Kane County Commissioner.

Matthew Cox has a solid background in running his own business as a building contractor. As a member of the Kane County Planning Commission, he has promoted sensible and controlled growth. And most importantly he has pledged to cut county government property taxes by 15% during his term of office. Given the inefficiencies and waste in our county government we believe this tax cut can be accomplished for the taxpayers of Kane County.

The Incumbent Celeste Meyeres Is No Friend of Taxpayers.

Despite what she says publicly, Celeste in not a friend of local taxpayers. In 2022 she publicly supported the county's decision to give a $97,000,000 tax break to developers in East Zion. In 2023 she voted to give a similar tax handout to AES Clean Energy for a solar project near Church Wells. In 2024 Celeste voted to spend over $7,000,000 of our public money on a recreation center that consists of only 2 basketball courts.

Celeste has no trouble spending our hard earned tax dollars on special interest projects that do not benefit our communities.

The decision is clear and this is why our Taxpayer Association strongly recommends voting for Matthew Cox.

The final day to vote is tomorrow, Tuesday, June 23. If you haven't voted yet, be sure to drop your ballot into a County Drop Box. Don't mail it because it needs to arrive at the County Clerk's office by Tuesday and at this point there is not enough time. Or you can vote in person on Tuesday.

Kanab Citizen calls out Celeste Meyeres for her published deception and dishonesty. She just loves to play the victim when her voting record is exposed.

UNDISPUTED FACTS:

- Celeste Meyeres has voted to raise taxes THREE times during her term so far. County sales tax, TRT tax, and a massive new tax on East Kanab residents' property taxes to pay for poor "fire service" from Kanab FD, which they already had.

- Celeste Meyeres has approved many unneeded and unaffordable buildings and projects with our tax money, including over $7 million for a new indoor basketball court for the high school basketball team. Kanab already has several indoor courts including a new court at the Elementary school and an expensive newly refurbished court at the Kanab Center. She caved to local special interest groups, against the wishes of the majority of taxpayers.

By her voting record, she is clearly a tax and spend fiscal liberal, despite her weak denials on her latest post below. Typical lying career politician who will say anything to hold on to power.

If you are mailing your ballot, it will take approximately 4-6 days to be received at the County Clerk's office due to all mail is now shipped to Las Vegas first for processing. The election is only one week away. Mail your ballot today or tomorrow to ensure that it arrives by the Tuesday DEADLINE. Late ballots are no longer counted per new state law. If you can't mail it by tomorrow, drop it in your local drop box or go in and vote in person. Spread the word. Share this with your friends and neighbors.

Kanab Liberals are sick and evil.

"8647" sign left at the curve in front of the Kanab Center over the weekend. Police were called yesterday and came and took the sign for possible evidence. Chief Cram was personally notified about the sign this morning.

8647 is slang and translates to Kill President Trump, the 47th President.
