Wow, lower taxes, efficient government, and power to the people, imagine that.
Kane County has some of the very highest taxes in Utah, but this current regime (led by Celeste and Patty) raised taxes two more times during their term and have hired even more expensive employees. Time for a real fiscal conservative to lead in our county.
CUT THE WASTE; LOWER OUR TAXES. A true conservative concept.
Matthew LeGrand Cox. Named after Matthew Cowley and LeGrand Richards. My mom worked at the BYU administration office and loved these men, and she wanted me to emulate their character. My aunt always called me Matthew BeGrand; she said I had to earn the LeGrand, and she wanted me to become grand. I'm an extremely logical and efficient individual; my biggest concern is that government often isn't logical or efficient. For this reason, I want to be your county commissioner. I want to change the narrative. I want to be logical in our spending, and I want to be efficient in our work. We can cut taxes through efficiencies; I know of at least one department that consolidated two positions into one. The money was then used elsewhere instead of going back to taxpayers. The increase to commissioners three years ago should not have happened, and removing the inflation increase from four years ago would be my first order of business. Government positions are a service opportunity. At the commission meeting this morning, I heard the word 'power' multiple times. Government does not have power; the power is in the people whom I would like to serve. Often, responsibility is confused with power. Responsibility and humility are the characteristics of the men I was named after and the traits I'm asking you to entrust me with through your vote. So, everyone knows, I grew up a BYU fan, then played rugby for the U.
