On Saturday, February 28, 2026, Kanab City Fire Department and Fredonia Fire Department held a live fire training exercise in Fredonia. This exercise involved the incredible teamwork of both full-time staff and our amazing volunteers, and was a great learning experience for everyone. Special thanks to Chief Johnson, Chief Pierson and Carmen Savala-Bradley for making this happen!

Also, thanks to Scott King for providing these images.

We were thrilled to be a part of Kanab City Fire Department’s first ever pinning ceremony. Kanab Fire is a mix of full time, part time, and volunteer firefighters, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to be able to help support each other and our families. Everyone involved cares deeply and has taken an oath to serve a community that feels like family. We will forever run towards danger to protect those we love.

Thank you to the brave men and women who serve our country! Freedom isn’t free.

We just want to give a huge shout out to all the Kanab Fire and EMS Volunteers that showed up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 5am to get everything ready for the pancake breakfast yesterday! We are all either first responders or family members of first responders, and it isn’t always easy to come give our time when we have a rare day off.

We had a great time serving the community and we are so grateful for the amount of support we received. The funds raised go towards other community events (check us out at the 24th of July bash at the reservoir!) and we also use them to support the firefighters and EMT’s in Kanab and their families. We also have T-shirts for sale, you can snag one of those at any community event we are apart of or you can purchase them at the fire station.

Also we want to say thank you to all the volunteers who took shifts watching the loaded fireworks to make sure the show last night went off without a hitch, and boy did it!

We couldn’t do what we do without the support of the community, so thank you again Kanab. We look forward to many more years of fun!
