It has been three years since my wonderful wife and I started Socks for Seniors MT. What began in a cramped 1 bedroom apartment, quickly grew into taking over Sophie’s grandparents’ home (thank you, Neumann grandparents), and this year expanded even further requiring a warehouse (thank you CityServiceValcon) and an incredible team of volunteers.

We never imagined our small program would grow so quickly, but thanks to the unwavering support of our sponsors and the remarkable community we are blessed to live in, we are proud to share that we have finally reached our goal. This year, Socks for Seniors MT provided Christmas gifts to all 350 homebound seniors in the Meals on Wheels program throughout our beautiful Flathead Valley. Our hope is that these gifts bring warmth, comfort, and a little extra Christmas cheer to each recipient.

This achievement would not have been possible without the many individuals and organizations who supported us along the way. We would like to extend a special thank you to our major sponsors and partners this year: CityServiceValcon, Three Rivers Bank, Animal Clinic of Kalispell, Kalispell Auto & Alignment Repair, Sykes Diner, Berubu Physical Therapy, and Sassafras. As well as a big thank you to NBC Montana and Kylie Gibson for helping us get the word out.

Without the generosity of these donors, combined with the overwhelming support from our community this daunting task would not have been possible.

Looking ahead, we are in the process of obtaining our official 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. As we continue to grow, we hope to expand our reach to neighboring communities. We are ready for our packing party tomorrow and are so excited to see all 350 gifts come together! A heartfelt thank you to our incredible sponsors, volunteers, and donors this year simply would not have been possible without your generosity and support.

We’re in the final stretch and counting everything up! If anyone is feeling gracious in this 9th hour, we are still desperately in need of blankets and activity books.

We’ll be at CityServiceValcon @ 640 W. Montana St. In Kalispell until around 8 PM tonight, and again tomorrow from 9 AM to noon. Our goal is to reach every senior in our beautiful Flathead Valley.

We’re down to the final days, and we’re thrilled to share some exciting news! The Animal Clinic of Kalispell and Sykes have already filled their donation boxes—and they’re aiming for even more!

As we make our final push, we still need many more donations to ensure every senior in the Meals on Wheels community receives a Christmas gift this year. Remember, there are over 300 homebound individuals in our valley who could use a little extra joy this season.

Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to our goal. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed so far. Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas! 🎄✨

We’re thrilled to announce another amazing partner joining us this season—Three Rivers Bank!

Three Rivers Bank embodies what makes the Flathead Valley special: neighbors helping neighbors and a community dedicated to doing what’s right. Thanks to their generosity and support, we’re excited to share that we’ve added three new donation sites!

You can now find our Socks for Seniors donation boxes and posters at all Three Rivers Bank locations across the Flathead Valley.

We couldn’t be more grateful for their partnership and for the community that continues to make this program possible.

A thoughtful group of local friends with November birthdays decided to celebrate a little differently this year — by giving back. Instead of exchanging personal gifts, they came together to collect donations for our organization, Socks for Seniors. They filled this beautiful burlap bag with socks, Kleenex, lotion, candles, toothpaste, blankets, hand warmers, books, gloves, and more — spreading warmth and kindness in the best way possible. A huge thank you this lovely group of ladies! ❤️

We’re officially kicking off the Socks for Seniors season! 🎄🧦

Today, we dropped off our first two donation boxes, and the rest will be out by the end of the week!

You can now drop off your generous donations at the following locations:

Sykes Diner – 202 2nd Ave W

CityServiceValcon – 640 W Montana St

We’re also thrilled to share that several local groups have reached out to offer their support and donations. We’ll be posting more about these generous partners soon once everything is confirmed!
