It has been three years since my wonderful wife and I started Socks for Seniors MT. What began in a cramped 1 bedroom apartment, quickly grew into taking over Sophie’s grandparents’ home (thank you, Neumann grandparents), and this year expanded even further requiring a warehouse (thank you CityServiceValcon) and an incredible team of volunteers.
We never imagined our small program would grow so quickly, but thanks to the unwavering support of our sponsors and the remarkable community we are blessed to live in, we are proud to share that we have finally reached our goal. This year, Socks for Seniors MT provided Christmas gifts to all 350 homebound seniors in the Meals on Wheels program throughout our beautiful Flathead Valley. Our hope is that these gifts bring warmth, comfort, and a little extra Christmas cheer to each recipient.
This achievement would not have been possible without the many individuals and organizations who supported us along the way. We would like to extend a special thank you to our major sponsors and partners this year: CityServiceValcon, Three Rivers Bank, Animal Clinic of Kalispell, Kalispell Auto & Alignment Repair, Sykes Diner, Berubu Physical Therapy, and Sassafras. As well as a big thank you to NBC Montana and Kylie Gibson for helping us get the word out.
Without the generosity of these donors, combined with the overwhelming support from our community this daunting task would not have been possible.
Looking ahead, we are in the process of obtaining our official 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. As we continue to grow, we hope to expand our reach to neighboring communities. To support this growth, we will need additional drop box locations. If you are interested in becoming a donor site next year, please contact us at [email protected] or call/text at 406-909-0287.
Below are photos highlighting our process this year and celebrating our incredible volunteers. If you see yourself pictured, please feel free to tag yourself and share with your friends, each of you deserves recognition for your generosity and selfless service.
Thank you all for helping make our dream a reality. We wish you a very Merry Christmas, and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
