Kalispell Boulder Project
The Kalispell Boulder Project is a nonprofit group [hoping] to raise funds for a set of climbing boulders in Lawrence Park, Kalispell. The Kalispell Parks department is open to providing a space and support for a set of climbing boulders in Lawrence Park. The cost of construction and installation (approximately $75,000) of the boulders must primarily come from external so
urces. The Kalispell Boulder Project is a group of climbers and other community members dedicated to raising the money to construct these boulders and bring this opportunity to the community of Kalispell. A climbing boulder is a concrete boulder fabricated on site. Although the boulders will look like real rocks, they will be designed in a way that allows for climbing, with routes ranging from very easy to very difficult. The boulders are designed to be enjoyed by children and adults of all ability levels. A soft surface (likely woodchips) will cushion falls, and each boulder is equipped with an “escape” route for easy descent. Special thanks to our current volunteer board:
