What an amazing gift of support we received from Farmers State Bank through a special matching grant to support our care for kids in crisis.
We love that one of the commitments of Farmer State Bank is to be ”a local business that gives back to the communities it calls home.”
So grateful to be part of Farmers State Bank’s meaningful generosity.

We are looking for a handyperson for hire to fix a few things in our home. A few [presumably] easy plumbing issues, rehanging a few things fallen off the wall [anchor screws needed] and possibly a few other minor things. If it feels like a good fix, we would like to retain this person for future light maintenance needs. Any recommendations so appreciated.

I can’t think of a better way to honor a man who dedicated his life to caring for kids. He left such a lasting impression on, not just the kids that he cared for, but the staff that he mentored. So grateful for his life and his leadership.

We're thrilled to see Mike Birnbaum's op-ed in The Missoulian! He offered his thoughts about the recently announced Birnbaum Youth Home, named in honor of his father, Geoff Birnbaum. Thank you to Mike and the Missoulian for sharing!

The best way to honor our previous director who spent his life advocating for kids and the need for shelter care.

Thanks to KPAX-TV for covering our capital campaign launch event yesterday and for the lovely tribute to Geoff Birnbaum! We’re thrilled to take this next step toward opening our new therapeutic shelter.

“Geoff was passionate about building a new therapeutic crisis shelter,” said Youth Homes CEO Amy Schaer. “We knew there was no better way to honor him than to dedicate the Birnbaum Youth Home in his memory.”

Learn how you can help open the doors of the Birnbaum Youth Home at youthhomesmt.org.

Grateful for this gathering at our Open House celebrating a place where kids can 'flourish and grow'.
Today in our home, we have kids with stories of loss, trauma, and loneliness. We have had every emotion laid bear as they process all that has been and try to imagine what is to come.
Our work is to hold and support them as they "feel all the feels" and walk through the hurt as the way to healing. We walk with them and along the way, we hope they begin to see possibility and potential for a future they could not have imagined before.
In our care, we invest in all the ways they can flourish and grow.

Because it's an excuse to celebrate LOVE...
Tomorrow [Valentine's Day] from 11-2, we will have homemade cookies and candy on a table outside our home. We invite you to stop by and help yourself to some of the goodies and our big thanks for all you do to support our care for kids....

We love that there’s a day set aside to celebrate LOVE. We have days for trees (which we also adore!), presidents, and even groundhogs—so of course there should be a day to shine the spotlight on the very best thing happening in this world… LOVE.

Today, we are celebrating you—our community. For more than 25 years of caring for kids, you have surrounded the Flathead Youth Home with extraordinary support. You have brought meals, painted walls, laid patio stones, tended garden beds, delivered Easter baskets, shopped for Christmas gifts, donated clothes, outfitted our kids in hoodies, served on our Board, planted our orchard, and given financially in generous and sustaining ways. Our doors are open today because you have stood with us so faithfully and tangibly.

We wanted to find a meaningful way to say thank you. And then it came to us… our community is our Valentine. So yesterday, we baked and decorated cookies just for you. We picked out chocolates and candies and created a big Valentine card to tell you how much you mean to us.

You are our celebration of love—not just today, but all 365 days of the year. Today we simply pause to say: thank you. We are so grateful. You are our Valentine.

From all of us at the Flathead Youth Home—THANK YOU.

There is still a little time to make a gift to the Flathead Youth Home in the 2025 year. [Who can believe we are moving into 2026??]
Your support allows us to become home to kids who don't have a safe place to land, support for kids who are struggling, and stability for kids whose lives have crashed into a crisis.
Thank you for being part of our home, our care, and our kids' healing.

Finding security, a sense of belonging, and a place to call home.
