Focusing on the fundamentals that keep our logging crews safe. Before you start up the iron today, remember the basics:
Check the Line: Inspect all high-vis clothing, hard hats, and PPE before heading out.
Clear Communication: Ensure radio frequencies are clear and hand signals are understood across the entire landing.
Mind the Zone: Maintain safe working distances—at least two tree lengths during manual felling operations.
Watch the Weather: Montana weather shifts fast. Keep an eye out for high winds and hazardous snags.
Plan the Route: Know your medical evacuation routes and keep emergency communication tools, like Garmin InReach units, accessible in remote zones.
Safety isn't just a meeting topic—it's how we get the job done right.

The MLA's 50th Anniversary Celebration was so much fun. We spent some time talking about the past and the future of this great association. What makes this association great is the people that show up and those that are involved at whatever level they can be. We appreciate all of our members for understanding the need to support this industry and to stand together even when times are tough.
