Greetings - This is an open invitation to all Flathead valley Masons. This coming Thursday Kalispell Lodge # 42 will be hosting an entertaining / educational program featuring a one hour video featuring Wallace Gustler.

Wallace Gustler was the first full time Gunsmith hired by The Williamsburg Historical society in the 1960's. This one hour professionally filmed documentary features Mr. Gustler building from scratch a Colonial era flintlock rifle.

I discovered this documentary a few years back and find it to be one of most historically interesting film I have ever watched. We will be gathering at 6:30 with the film starting at 7:00 PM. Popcorn and soft drinks will be provided. Attendees are welcome to bring snacks and drinks of their choice. Women and family and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend.

NOTE; This event will NOT be a bring your personal fire arms for display.

Happy Birthday to Brother Willie Mays. Born Willie Howard Mays Jr., nicknamed "The Say Hey Kid", is an American former professional baseball center fielder. He spent nearly all of his 22-seasons in Major League Baseball playing for the New York/San Francisco Giants before finishing his career with the New York Mets. He has the distinction of still holding the record for putouts by an outfielder at 7,095. He is also the only Major League player to have hit a home run in every inning starting at 1 and going to inning 16.

Brother Theodore Roosevelt was raised a Master Mason on this day, April 24, 1901; just a few months later he would be sworn in as the 26th President of the United States. In 1915, he became the first president to have his photo taken while wearing Masonic regalia during a visit to Spokane, Washington.

Ill. Albert Pike 33°, served as the Grand Commander of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction, passed away on this day on April 2, 1891, he was 81.

Pike is one of the single most influential members of the fraternity. He has the distinction of being one of the most quoted authors of Freemasonry, and unfortunately the most misquoted writers at the same time. His contributions were and are still numerous.
