Making a difference in the lives of abused and neglected children in Flathead County, MT.

Abused and neglected children often slip through the cracks of the overburdened social welfare system. Trained CASA volunteers can step in to make a difference. CASA is the only volunteer organization that empowers everyday citizens as appointed members of the court. (Locally, CASA volunteers serve as the child’s guardian ad litem, or GAL). Appointed by judges, CASA volunteers typically handle jus

t one or two cases at a time and commit to staying on that case until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. CASA volunteers provide a constant, stable, person for the child to connect to in a situation where frequent change is often the norm. We do NOT handle family law cases or matters involved with custodial disputes.

For 25 years, CASA for Kids has been showing up for children in the Flathead Valley.

Today, we’re kicking off our anniversary campaign of 25 Stories for 25 Years with the question we hear most often and the foundation of everything we do… “what exactly is CASA for Kids”

Over the next several weeks, we’ll be sharing 25 videos from the people behind CASA, advocates, former foster youth, volunteers, staff, board members, community partners, and supporters, each offering a different perspective on advocacy, impact, and why this work matters.

For 25 years, one thing has remained true: children deserve someone in their corner.

Park Side Credit Union and Whitefish Credit Union are bringing the fun to Columbia Falls with RUN WILD: Family Field Day 2026 🌈🏃‍♂️

Join them Saturday, May 16th from 3–7PM at the Columbia Falls Community Market for an afternoon full of games, live music, food trucks, a beer garden, and family-friendly competition — all supporting Columbia Falls Elementary Schools.

Expect sack races, dizzy bat, 3-legged races, live music from Fire Lake Duo + Roots Uprising, and plenty of fun for all ages.

Chef Ironside and her team will be helping us create an unforgettable evening on May 27th as we celebrate 25 years of advocacy for children in the Flathead Valley.

From beautiful presentation to incredible food and hospitality, we couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with a team that cares so deeply about community. Trust us… you’re going to want to come hungry.

After 17 incredible years, we’re saying goodbye to someone who has shaped CASA for Kids in more ways than we can count.

Cindy has poured her heart into advocating for abused and neglected children of Flathead County, standing alongside volunteers, supporting families, and helping build a program that has changed countless lives. What started as a role quickly became a calling and her impact will be felt here for years to come.

Because of Cindy, so many children have experienced hope, stability, and a stronger path forward. Her leadership, passion, and belief in this mission have left a mark on every corner of CASA.

While we will miss her deeply, we are so grateful for the legacy she leaves behind and the foundation she helped build. The Flathead CASA organization is as dedicated as ever to continue advocating for abused and neglected children.

Thank you, Cindy, for 17 years of “good hard work,” unwavering heart, and dedication to our kids. Wishing you all the best in this next chapter
