Medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), like methadone and buprenorphine, are the most effective treatments for people struggling with addiction to opioids like fentanyl. They promote recovery and save lives by reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms, while cutting overdose risk in half.

We’ve helped loosen restrictions around MOUD: now, patients can take methadone doses home, and have expanded access to buprenorphine through telehealth. Yet Congress is considering legislation that would add back barriers. It would have devastating impacts on people trying to access MOUD and put recovery and lives at risk. Tell Congress to oppose this legislation: https://engage.drugpolicy.org/secure/don%E2%80%99t-let-congress-block-treatment-access?ms=3A1_2603MOUDBills&utm_campaign=fy26advocacy&utm_medium=social&sc=DPA26AWM&utm_source=2603fbc3MOUDBills&cid=701Qr00000SyJ7jIAF

Remember to defrost your naloxone if it is kept in a car, tent or from an outdoor naloxone box. 2 min under your arm, or warm palms of hands will defrost it. It will not deploy if frozen. It does not harm the naloxone.

Did you know that naloxone can freeze in single-digit temperatures? 🥶🧊

While it’s still safe and effective once thawed, every second matters during an opioid overdose.

Carry naloxone in your purse or bag instead of leaving it in your car until the weather warms up.
