Thank you to everyone that came to the Climate Action Plan Community Reflection in Week 8! We are so glad that everyone got to meet the members of the CAP Committee and learn about what's behind done to improve sustainability and reduce our footprint here at K. Attendees used a Venn diagram to reflect on their own climate action by combining what brings them joy, what they’re good at and what work they think needs doing. Here are some students that shared their personal climate action!

Compost delivery and lots of worms! πŸͺ± As sprouts begin poking through the ground and seedlings are placed into soil, the Composting Crew is helping Kalamazoo College spring to life by supplying cured compost to our gardens on campus. Buckets full of rich compost packed with nutrients and worms are being dropped off to the Hoop House and the Jolly Garden to give our growing spaces a little boost. 🌱
Want to get involved in this process? Visit the Hoop House during our weekly open hours MWF 4:30-6 pm. Email us at [email protected].

The Book Club in the library is now offering double punches on drink punch cards if you provide your own reusable cup to put your drink in. β˜•οΈ Next time you’re in the book club, ask for a punch card, bring your own cup, and start earning punches towards a FREE drink of your choice!
🌎 Getting into the habit of bringing resuable items with you is a great way to build a more sustainable lifestyle. Whether it's keeping a bag on hand for spontaneous shopping trips, bringing your own utensils or takeout containers, or carrying around a mug or water bottle, every effort reduces waste going into landfills and conserves resources. Everybody is responsible for building an eco-friendly community and we love to see efforts like this!
