WIC Week 2026 | Level Up • Build Strong
Today we’re celebrating Trisha Kidd, Director of Project Management and Principal Associate Broker at PlazaCorp Realty Advisors, Inc. who brings more than 20 years of diverse real estate experience across development, brokerage, property management, banking, and law.
In her role at PlazaCorp, Trisha helps guide complex development projects from the earliest idea to the final approval—overseeing due diligence, entitlements, contracts, incentives and grants, marketing, and community engagement. She collaborates closely with municipalities, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure successful, community‑focused outcomes across every phase of development.
Trisha is deeply involved in shaping Kalamazoo’s future beyond her day‑to‑day work. She serves on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Michigan, as well as the The City of Kalamazoo, Michigan DDA/DEGA Board, where she helps support economic development, business growth, and community investment. She is also a member of the The CCIM Institute, the Commercial Alliance of Realtors (CAR) and state and national REALTOR® associations, and has previously taught pre‑licensure courses at the Greater Kalamazoo Association of REALTORS (GKAR).
Her career journey has been one of constant evolution. Originally from Mississippi, she moved to Michigan to attend Western Michigan University, later working in bank collections, leasing, residential brokerage, real estate law, and commercial brokerage. She even co‑founded a real estate company with her mother before pivoting during the recession to earn a Paralegal Certificate and intern with the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Over the years, she has continued to level up her expertise, even earning an Executive Certificate of Business Administration from Notre Dame.
One of her proudest accomplishments is helping advance the Transformational Brownfield initiative in Kalamazoo—supporting three major sites and securing more than $54 million in incentives toward nearly $100 million in investment. This project is one of only 16 transformational Brownfields in the state and is expected to drive meaningful, long‑term community impact.
Like many women in construction, she finds a challenge in navigating fast-paced, high-stakes industry that is still largely male-dominated. Trisha faces challenges with confidence, clarity, and resilience. She learned to assert her ideas, communicate directly, and focus on solutions—skills that now help her lead projects and teams with strength and credibility.
To Trisha, “Level Up • Build Strong” means continuous growth, lifelong learning, and building strong relationships that support great projects and stronger communities. She levels up by embracing new challenges and leadership opportunities, and she builds strong by fostering collaboration and creating developments that make a lasting difference.
Her advice to women entering construction or development:
“Stay confident, be curious, and never underestimate the value of strong relationships. Ask questions, speak up, find mentors—and remember your perspective matters.”
Outside of work, Trisha finds joy in supporting her children’s music and sports, traveling with her family, staying active with golf, tennis, and pickleball, and taking classes—she jokes that she’d love to be a professional student. Originally from the Gulf Coast near New Orleans, she also has a lifelong love of culture, music, and travel.
We’re honored to highlight Trisha’s leadership, expertise, and commitment to community‑centered development during WIC Week 2026.
