What an incredible day at the Foundations of Fatherhood Summit!

Today’s conversations centered on the intersection of fatherhood and the legal system, with valuable insight shared by leaders and representatives from across Michigan, including Michigan Supreme Court Justice Noah Hood.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn, connect, and collaborate with passionate advocates working to support fathers and families throughout the state Michigan Action Plan for Father Involvement (MAPFI), Present Pillars, Strong Fathers/Padres Fuertes - Strong Beginnings, Fatherhood and Family Service Hub , boy2menofbusiness , as well as the newly formed Department of Father and Paternal Engagement Division.

Excited to continue building relationships and strengthening support systems for fathers across Michigan.

We are honored and excited that the Fatherhood Network will be presenting at the 2026 International Father and Family Practitioners Conference in Washington, DC hosted by The National Partnership for Community Leadership (NPCL) .

Our breakout session, “Wellness Warriors: Finding H.O.P.E While Building Father & Frontline Practitioner Wellness Plans,” will highlight the importance of fathers prioritizing their mental, emotional, physical, and holistic wellness.

Healthy fathers help build healthy families, and we believe creating spaces that encourage healing, resilience, and wellness for men is critical to the well-being of our communities.

We look forward to sharing, learning, and continuing this important conversation on the intersection of fatherhood and wellness.

Looks like our Director of Operations, Derek Miller, had an amazing time reading to youth during the Kalamazoo Public Library’s Party in the Park! 📚☀️

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity to read alongside his son and his classmates while encouraging a love for learning and literacy.

A big thank you to the Kalamazoo Public Library for inviting us to be part of such a meaningful community event and for continuing to invest in early learning opportunities for children and families throughout Kalamazoo. 💙

Another meaningful day on the course supporting the now and next generations! ⛳️

The Fatherhood Network and the KBGA - Kalamazoo Black Golf Association were honored to support this year’s golf outing hosted by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kalamazoo.

We believe strong communities are built by investing in children, creating opportunities, and surrounding young people with support, mentorship, and encouragement.

Investing in the out-of-school-time space is especially important, as it provides youth with safe environments, positive relationships, life-enriching experiences, and continued growth beyond the classroom.

Our work to empower fathers and strengthen families is deeply connected to helping youth thrive both now and in the future.

THANK YOU to the Boys & Girls Clubs for another incredible event and for the important work you continue to do throughout our community. Looking forward to next year!

We are incredibly thankful to the Michigan Association for Infant Mental Health for inviting the Fatherhood Network to facilitate a breakout session during this year’s conference themed “From Deep Roots to New Branches.”

It was truly an honor to advocate for the importance of intentionally engaging fathers within the infant and early childhood mental health space through our breakout session, “Fathers as Roots and Wings: Championing Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health Across Generations.” The conversation highlighted the powerful role fathers play in supporting maternal wellness, healthy attachment, emotional development, and long-term family well-being across generations.

We were grateful to connect with such an engaging audience of practitioners, advocates, and parents who brought thoughtful insight, meaningful dialogue, and a shared passion for strengthening children and families. Opportunities like these remind us how important collaboration is in building systems and communities that fully embrace fathers as essential contributors to infant and early childhood mental health outcomes.

A special shout out and heartfelt thank you to Executive Director Joni Zieldorff for your leadership, hospitality, and continued commitment to advancing infant mental health across Michigan.

Thank you again to MI-AIMH for your vision and partnership. We look forward to continuing to grow a strong and collaborative relationship together as we collectively work to support healthier children, stronger families, and thriving communities throughout Michigan.
