Kalamazoo Scottish Country Dancers Scottish Country Dancing Classes are held every Monday evening from 7 to 9 PM. Everyone welcome. Class is held most Monday evenings from 7-9 PM.

Scottish Country Dancing is a form of social ballroom dancing native to Scotland. Scottish Country Dancing should not be mistaken for a form of folk dancing or Highland dancing. The elegance, manners, and footwork of the Scottish Country Dance has its roots both in French Ballet and the French Court. In 17th century Scotland, this French base, combined with Celtic dance patterns danced for centuri

es by the Scots, resulted in an extraordinary musical form of dance. It embodied not only grace, but also an exhilarating spirit! Above all else, the primary purpose of Scottish Country Dance is for everyone to enjoy the dance!

Last Monday was our last dance party of the season. We danced to The Happy Meeting, Wild Geese, Slytherin House, Johnnie Walker, Mairi's Wedding & Postie's Jig. Come join us at the Sparta Celtic Festival where we will be including Ceilidh dances. It will be fun.

We will be back dancing at the Grange Hall, Monday September 14.

Annoucement: Tomorrow Monday June 29, 2026 will be our last class of the season. Our Dance Class will return in the fall on Monday September 14, 2026 - same time, same place. In the meantime, our dancers will be performing at the Sparta Celtic Festival August 8, Come join us!
