ABOUT SILENT SKY
The true story of 19th-century astronomer Henrietta Leavitt explores a womanโ€™s place in society during a time of immense scientific discoveries, when womenโ€™s ideas were dismissed until men claimed credit for them.

When Henrietta Leavitt begins work at the Harvard Observatory in the early 1900s, she isnโ€™t allowed to touch a telescope or express an original idea. Instead, she joins a group of women โ€œcomputers,โ€ charting the stars for a renowned astronomer who has no time for the womenโ€™s probing theories. In her free time, as Henrietta attempts to measure the light and distance of stars, she must also take measure of her life on Earth, trying to balance her dedication to science with family obligations and the possibility of love.

Callbacks for Silent Sky will take place Wednesday, September 2, in the Civic Auditorium, located at 329 S. Park St. Please enter at the Business Doors located on Park St. Those called back will receive an email by 6 p.m. tonight with the callback sides and music included. If you do not receive the packet by 7 p.m. please email [email protected] and let her know. Please be sure to look over the scenes from the audition packet that was sent before auditions. If you need this packet, please email [email protected].
