πŸ› οΈ Need a drill? A ladder? Lawn equipment? The ENA Tool Library is here to help!

At the Edison Neighborhood Association, we believe everyone deserves access to the tools they need to care for their home and neighborhood β€” without the high cost of renting or buying equipment. From power tools and hand tools to lawn care supplies, our community Tool Library helps residents tackle projects big and small πŸ”¨πŸŒ±

But it’s more than just borrowing tools. It’s about building neighborhood pride, self-sufficiency, and a stronger Edison community. Whether you’re fixing up your home, starting a new project, or learning new skills, ENA is here to support you πŸ’š

If the heat index reaches 100 degrees on Wednesday, the City of Kalamazoo will open several designated fire hydrants to help provide relief from the extreme heat. The locations of these hydrants will be announced tomorrow if the forecast remains unchanged. For safety reasons, residents should never attempt to open a fire hydrant themselves. Unauthorized use can negatively impact water pressure throughout the area, potentially compromising firefighting operations and public safety in the event of a fire emergency.

𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 π…πˆπ‹π‹ π’π“π€π“πˆπŽππ’
Public hydration stations are also available at MLK Park, Bronson Park, and Southside Park.

When temperatures and humidity are high, remember to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor activity, wear lightweight clothing, and check on family members, neighbors, and others who may be vulnerable to heat-related illness.

City Emergency Management will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates as additional forecast information becomes available. Please follow Kalamazoo City Emergency Management for further updates.

At Tay’s Farm, we’re growing more than vegetablesβ€”we’re growing confidence, knowledge, and stronger community connections. πŸ₯•βœ¨

Through hands-on gardening workshops, residents learn everything from planting seeds and tending crops to harvesting and preserving fresh food for the winter months. We provide the seeds, tools, and guidance so everyone has the chance to learn and grow 🌻

Last year, participation in Tay’s Farm increased by 150%, with more families discovering the power of urban gardening and food preservation. From canning workshops to learning how to freeze and store harvests, these are skills that last far beyond one season πŸ’š
