This is a little late in posting, but we would like to recognize and thank our 2018 drivers of the year. In our Medical es**rt transportation Amos Allgyer earned top award by driving 1689 miles in 2018. This is the 2nd year in a row for Amos!
In our Non Medical transportation department we are pleased to announce that John Rey was awarded top driver by driving 720 miles. A big Shepherd's Center shout out to our two amazing volunteers. And of course we would like to thank all our drivers. Without you we couldn't do what we do and do it with style and dignity.

I would like to take a moment and thank everyone for your cards prayers and positive vibes. Last January I was diagnosed with AML Leukemia and was treated at U of M hospital. I spent all winter and most of the summer in Ann Arbor for treatment. On April 11th I was blessed with a bone marrow transplant, my rebirthday! I am now back home after a long healing journey where I am still recuperating. I am well enough to be able to come back to the Shepherd's Center office a few hours a week. It feels so good to be back behind the desk and working with some fantastic people. Again thanks for all you prayers it means so much to me and my family.

With Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner all of us here at the Shepherd’s Center have so much to be thankful for. On the top of that list are our VOLUNTEERS. Without all of these dedicated people we could not exists. As in the movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, if our organization was gone or had never been created it scares me to think the impact it would have on the lives of so many people in our community. We all are blessed to live in such a great community with so many giving people who contribute so much for our mission here at the Shepherd’s Center. We wish all of you very Happy Thanksgiving.

I recently watched this documentary about Glen Campbell's battle with Alzheimer's disease. It was a good watch and shows how families struggle with this disease. He and his family decided to go public to bring this disease in the forefront and to help others who are struggling with this horrible disease. Alzheimer's can attack anyone, rich or poor, famous or your neighbor across the street. I thought it was worthwhile watch.
