Each Tuesday at 4PM EST the Handweavers Guild of America, Inc. (HGA) hosts Textiles & Tea, a conversation with some of the most respected fiber artists in the field today.

On September 1st, they feature Keila McCracken
Keila McCracken is a contemporary fiber artist based in Turtle River, Minnesota, who beautifully merges traditional weaving with modern sustainability. As the first weaver on the continent to utilize a historic Hattersley loom, she crafts intentional, slow-made pieces that honor the magic of everyday lived experiences. In 2021, Keila designed an original herringbone tweed called ‘Diamond Point’

Textiles & Tea is broadcast via Zoom and Facebook Live. It is sponsored, which means it is free to the public.

September is National Americana Month

Have you checked out the exhibit "Americans" or the "Caroline Monnet" exhibit at the Dennos Museum? These exhibits will only be on display a few more days.

Americans, a traveling exhibition from the Smithsonian’s Museum on Main Street and the National Museum of the American Indian, explores how deeply intertwined American Indians are in the culture of the United States. On display until September 3rd.

Also, currently on display is the work of indigenous artist Caroline Monnet. She uses various textile techniques in ways we may not have seen before. Woven plastic, embroidery on insulation and images of clothing she has designed. On display until September 6th.

Guild Community Outreach

We had a blast at the Lake Ann Homecoming celebrations in July 2026!

We didn't start out with the canopy, but boy were were thankful that a Guild member brought it! We were moving the display around to stay in the shade. We had a blast!

August 28th is National Thoughtful Day

We would like to highlight 2 talented and thoughtful Guild members. The jacket on the left was woven and assembled by the member on the right. We believe that the member on the right also wove and assembled her jacket. Beautiful!

Both Guild members are generous supporting others and sharing their skills.

Guild Community Outreach

We were thrilled to be a part of the Old Mission Peninsula Old Cabin Days in June 2026. It was a opportunity to support the Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society while publicizing our Guild and Fiber Arts.
