Third Coast Literary Magazine

Third Coast Literary Magazine A Publication of Western Michigan University’s Graduate Creative Writing Program

Founded in 1995 by graduate students of the Western Michigan University English department, Third Coast is one of the nation’s premier literary magazines—and one of only a handful of nationally distributed literary magazines to regularly include four genres; Third Coast consistently publishes excellent, and often award-winning, fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and drama.

Our winner from round 2 is... Marie!!

Now for round 3 of the 2025 Third Coast Cat Competition, we have Marie vs. Padfoot!

As a reminder, Marie is a particular little lady who prefers things done her way. She enjoys lounging in her tent and loafing on top of her subordinates like a broody hen.

Padfoot is a menace, but her cuddles will melt your heart. She enjoys exploring the rafters of the basement, and is often covered in cobwebs from said rafters. Her favorite place to puke is from the top of the internet router. So many electronics to spew on!

The winner of round one was... Storm!!🌪️🌩️🐱
Now, for the second round of the 2025 Third Coast Cat Contest, we have Marie vs. Storm!

Marie is a particular little lady who prefers things done her way. She enjoys lounging in her tent and loafing on top of her subordinates like a broody hen.

As a reminder, Storm is four years old and has a talent for causing copyediting chaos for her owners--all while looking mildly unimpressed.
