Third Coast Literary Magazine

Third Coast Literary Magazine A Publication of Western Michigan University’s Graduate Creative Writing Program

Founded in 1995 by graduate students of the Western Michigan University English department, Third Coast is one of the nation’s premier literary magazines—and one of only a handful of nationally distributed literary magazines to regularly include four genres; Third Coast consistently publishes excellent, and often award-winning, fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and drama.

Introducing out first of two Non-Fiction Editors, Heather Augustyn!

Full bio below:
Heather Augustyn is author of eight books on the history of ska. That's right, ska. She previously enjoyed working for 12 years as a newspaper journalist. That's right, newspaper. She is assistant professor of writing at Purdue University Northwest since 2014 and is a doctoral student at Western Michigan University where she specializes in creative nonfiction. She considers being called a "rude girl" a compliment and will skavangelize wherever she goes, so you've been warned.

Please give a warm welcome to our second of three new Poetry Editors, Donny Pasmore!

Full bio below:
Donald Pasmore (He/She) loves writing poetry, reading poetry, publishing poetry, and other nerdy writer s**t. He grew up in Delaware and Maryland with some good parents, and sadly no true hardships to overcome. Her passion project is 149 Review which she founded with many like-minded writers from Salisbury University. She won the 2026 Frostic Award in Poetry judged by Jericho Brown, and his debut chapbook, “Dulled Bodies” was a finalist for the 2025 Iron Horse Literary Review Chapbook Prize. Links to his published works can be found at donaldpasmore.com.
