Yesterday, we came together for our Annual BBQ Alumni Celebration. It was a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with our alumni, celebrate our young people and their accomplishments, share good food, laughter, memories, and strengthen the bonds that make our community so special.

We are especially proud to celebrate our graduates as they begin an exciting new chapter at Wayne State University. 🎓💙 We know they will continue to make us proud, and we also know Wayne State is incredibly lucky to welcome such talented, determined, and remarkable young people to their campus.

To our graduates: continue to dream big, work hard, lead with purpose, and remember that your Inner City Youth for Change family will always be cheering you on! 🙌🏾

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make yesterday such a special celebration. Your continued love and support make moments like these possible.

Here’s to our alumni, our graduates, our families, and the bright futures ahead! 🎓❤️🔥

The team wrapped up the trip at Breakthrough by restocking shelves in the grocery pantry, preparing lunch, and finishing Part 2 of our tour of the Breakthrough campus. Grateful for the opportunity to serve, learn, and see the impact this organization makes in the community. 💙

After a Breakthrough Ministry overview, the team prepped, cooked, and served chili with toppings, made lemonade, visited with Breakthrough Ministry guests, and helped in the grocery store. Tomorrow, we’ll take a tour after serving there again.

Stepping into someone else’s shoes changed our perspective. Our poverty simulation taught us valuable lessons about resilience, deepened our empathy, and gave us a greater understanding of the challenges many people face. Every experience is an opportunity to learn, reflect, and serve with compassion.
