KALAMAZOO, MI โ€” May 26, 2026 โ€” The YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo Board of Directors has named Ericia Moore as its new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective mid-July 2026. With this appointment, Ericia becomes the first woman to lead the Association as CEO in its 160-year history.

Mooreโ€™s appointment comes after a comprehensive six-month executive search through the guidance of Y-USA. In her new role, she will lead the organization through its next phase of community impact and regional growth.

A primary focus of Moore's leadership will be driving the YMCAโ€™s strategic "1 in 1 by 31" expansion plan. This ambitious initiative aims to bring a YMCA program within one mile of every resident in its service area by 2031.

Moore will succeed Interim CEOs Jim Migliaccio who will be retiring May 31,2026, and Rhonda Ludwig, who will be in place until Mooreโ€™s arrival.

โ€œWe conducted a comprehensive nationwide search, and Ericia stood out at every stage. Her energy, clear vision, and deep commitment to fostering inclusive environments are exactly what the YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo needs at this pivotal moment. Ericia has a proven track record of strategic leadership and innovative partnerships that align perfectly with our mission, and the Board is entirely confident that she is the leader who will guide us into a dynamic next chapter.โ€โ€” Scott Nykaza, Board Chairman

โ€œBecoming the CEO of the Greater Kalamazoo YMCA is deeply personal for meโ€”a true full-circle moment. As a servant leader, Iโ€™ve dedicated my career to creating the kind of access and opportunity that can change a life, especially in communities that need it most. I learned to swim, grew through sports like basketball, and discovered the power of belonging through the Y. Iโ€™m honored to lead an organization that serves as a cornerstone of communityโ€”bringing people together, strengthening families, and opening doors so every individual can thrive.โ€ โ€” Ericia Moore

Ericia comes to the Y with over 15 years of experience in the non-profit world, currently serving at YMCA of Floridaโ€™s First Coast where she has spent the past six years as the VP of Operations and Social Responsibility. During her tenure, Ericia grew membership retention by 6% year over year, secured vital afterschool programming and summer camp partnerships, and successfully spearheaded an annual campaign that drastically increased philanthropic investment within an underserved community. Ericia holds a bachelorโ€™s degree in Sports Management from the University of North Florida.

Celebrating its 160th anniversary, the YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo strengthens the community across two main branches and extensive regional outreach, serving more than 30,000 members. The association provides critical youth and early learning initiatives in underserved neighborhoods, and partners deeply with Kalamazoo Public Schools and Portage Public Schools to deliver robust out-of-school programming. Because the Y is committed to being accessible to everyone, one in five members receives financial assistanceโ€”ensuring that all families, regardless of background, have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

May is Mental Health Month ๐Ÿ’š

Your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. In a world that constantly tells us to โ€œkeep pushing,โ€ remember that itโ€™s okay to pause, breathe, rest, and ask for help when needed.

Healing is not weakness. Speaking up is not weakness. Choosing yourself is not weakness.

This month, letโ€™s continue creating safe spaces for honesty, support, healing, and hope within our families and communities. You are not alone โ€” and you never have to suffer in silence.

๐Ÿ’š Be kind to your mind
๐Ÿ’š Prioritize self-care
๐Ÿ’š Check on your loved ones
๐Ÿ’š Normalize conversations about mental health
