The Kendal Store on 27th Street has always held such a special place in our hearts. About 10 miles into our Kal-Haven Trail rides, Mr. Walter would welcome us with his warm smile, while his lovely wife prepared the most delicious cold salads and sandwiches.

During our Bike 4 Life ride, we stopped there for our first break and were saddened to learn that Mr. Walter had passed away. He was truly a kind and special soul, and we will always cherish the memories of his warm greetings and the love he shared with everyone who stopped by.

We are so grateful that his family has repurchased the store and is continuing to carry on his beautiful legacy. If you’re riding the Kal-Haven Trail, please stop by, say hello, enjoy a snack or sandwich, and show your support for this wonderful family business. Every visit helps keep Mr. Walter’s memory and legacy alive! ❤️🚴🏽‍♀️🥪

My heart is FULL! ❤️

To Team LifeCycles—thank you for showing up, working hard, keeping everyone safe, encouraging our riders, and helping make today so special. I could not have done this without each and every one of you.

And to ALL OF OUR RIDERS—THANK YOU! Whether you rode a few miles or pushed all the way through, you rode for something bigger than yourself. You rode for those we have lost to su***de and gun violence, for the families who continue to carry their memories, and for those who may be struggling right now.

Today we rode with LOVE, PURPOSE & HOPE. 💙💛💜

For me, this ride will always be personal. We rode in honor of my son, Anthony “Boo” Hensley, and every family carrying the name and memory of someone they love.

You all held me up today on one of the hardest days of the year for me, and I will never forget it.

Today we ride for YOU, son. 🚴🏾‍♀️💛🩵💜

I miss you more than words could ever explain. Today is always hard for me, but I continue to turn my pain into PURPOSE.

Every mile we ride today carries your name, your memory, your love and your legacy. Bike 4 Life was born because of you, Boo, and Mama will continue to keep your name alive.

But today we also ride for anyone who is struggling with thoughts of su***de and needs a reason to keep going. Please stay. Your life matters. Your story is not over. 💛

We ride for every mother, father, sister, brother, friend and loved one who has lost someone to su***de or gun violence. We carry them with us today, too.
