The Kalamazoo Promise marks its 20th anniversary this year. New data from the Upjohn Institute highlight key outcomes for local students:
• Among the Class of 2024, Promise scholars were 18 percentage points more likely to enroll in college within six months of graduation compared to graduates from similar urban districts.
• The 10-year eligibility window has led to twice as many associate degrees and 30% more bachelor’s degrees for Promise scholars.
• Since the program’s launch, 51% of eligible scholars who exhausted their scholarship have earned a degree or credential.
• Of all credentials earned as of Fall 2024, 80% have been bachelor's degrees.
