Note from nurse MaryLynn from Patients Out of Time:
Hi all,
We have launched the online survey of Veterans with post traumatic stress symptoms - please sign up and be a part of it if you qualify. We are looking for Veterans who live in a state with a medical ma*****na (cannabis) law, who have a diagnosis of PTSD, who have a civilian physician’s recommendation for cannabis and use it to treat their PTSD symptoms (it is OK if you qualified for a recommendation for another problem if you live in a state that does not recognize PTSD as an acceptable condition).
We hope to get 10,000 Veterans in this study to show the cannabis does help and to gain information about which strain or cannabinoid ratios will be most helpful for the various symptoms. Each study Vet will need to go online to register and provide some baseline information including specifics on your medications and cannabis use and your top 3 PTSD symptoms and then you will be asked to rate your symptoms on a regular basis (daily, weekly) for the next 18 months - noting any medication changes. The online program will send you reminders and the rating takes less than a minute, but this will give us the info to track your symptoms over time as they relate to your cannabis use (along with any medication changes) and we will be able to pull all the study Vets data together. If we can get 10,000 Veterans the survey will be very powerful and we hope to use it to help force the federal government to allow the use of cannabis to ALL Veterans who may choose to use it to manage their symptoms. We lose more than 22 Veterans per day to su***de and we believe cannabis can help restore a sense of well being for many Veterans.

Please sign up for this last “mission” to help your fellow Veterans. If you do not qualify for this study, please urge any of your fellow Vet brothers and sisters who live in a state with a medical cannabis law and are using cannabis for their PTSD. I am a former LT in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps - we need to help our fellow Vets who still do not have legal access to this medicine. It is easy to do - go to www.vetptsdstudy.org
Take care,
ML
