Once a nanny for Koa Voight Suárez — and — today a fundraising pro for a national nonprofit, Madeline has a unique perspective on the Koa Fund 🧐

Family with the founders for more than 12 years now, Madeline sees the Koa Fund founders, and their families, and the Koa Fund as an organization “creating real, deep, rooted community.”

Madeline echos the comments of grantees who describe the Koa Fund as an “intentional partner,” and focused on “making sure youth have access,” and together “doing the work of youth development and leadership and art, based in community and collaboration.”

Sofia Arloa and Taryn (Inky) realized they had together found the Grand Prize Winning hidden AOK Day poetry tile — “humongous” — and thus broke into a spontaneous Rock Paper Scissors competition… 🪨📃✂️… and Taryn takes home the tabletop s’mores campfire kit!!! 🔥🔥🔥

While our is officially Sunday June 21st, AOK Day is a month filled with giving, and on Friday, a bunch of us gathered to share good food, fun, and stories 🔥And, to go out into our community with surprise gifts, as an expression of our gratitude for everyone that supports us 😊

AND… We were sporting our new Limited-Edition AOK26 Gear — Tees, Tanks, Sweatshirts, Bags — all printed by Koa Fund volunteers so more of the cost of your gear goes to the Koa Fund and our grantees! 🎉

100% of your AOK Day donation to the Koa Fund goes to organizations such as these. Each and every one helps youth be valiant in their own way. We are a more powerful, collective ally for youth in our communities when we all come together to support these innovative, heart-led efforts where a wide range of youth identities can flourish:

Slide 1: Our longest and deepest partnership, is an organization and family we’ve simply fallen in love with. 🫶

Slide 2: is our newest and grandest partnership, and we are thrilled to be the pilot funder for YETTA (Youth Empowerment Through the Arts)! 🎨

Slide 3: After deciding to host SG25 we met and they gifted their space and talents for our event. 🙏And now, we are helping to grow their youth programs.

Slide 4: Similarly, we engaged for video and podcast support for our Sunrise Gathering in 2025. 🎥Now, Koa Fund grant funding is supporting their youth programs.

Slide 5: Get this… allows us to help kids take home a plushy version of their favorite therapy dog who supports them in their resilience! 🐶

Slide 6: We’ve supported since our inception and today we are finding more ways to offer support to each other. 🚴🏽‍♀️

Slide 7: We have a soft spot for supporting JABS (Justice Against Bullying @ School) from and for volunteering at their annual Youth Connect event. 😁

Slide 8: On AOK Day 2025 we visited the 📚 to celebrate our support and their mission to celebrate and amplify youth voices!

Slide 9: Our connection with was born from our common trauma of the loss of a child, and continues on with shared empathy and wisdom. 💚

Slide 10: Our support for Big Pride included a Koa Café retreat called Dream Seekers where q***r youth and their mentors made this art as a response to their day. 🖼️

In Koa Yoga Chapter 4, Zaria led us on a walk in the woods with Koa. In Chapter 6, Zaria takes us inside Koa’s upside down room on a journey of new perspective.
