“There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.14.2-3.NLT
This is Jesus using terminology consistent with Jewish wedding events with Him as the bridegroom, who is coming to to get His bride—the Church—and take him to the ‘addition’ He has made for us to His Father’s House, where we will live eternally, which is Heaven. When that happens, He will come to where we are currently living (here, on earth), and then, turnaround and go back to Heaven for a wedding banquet—THE Wedding Banquet (Revelation 4). So for those who question the Rapture saying, “Do you think Jesus is going to come an take the church, and ‘boomerang’ back to Heaven?” Yes, I do! That’s exactly what will happen.

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.14.6.NLT
Is Jesus the ONLY way to Heaven? Yes! And all Truth is found with Him because He came from God, and because He IS God—just as He claimed to be. This is the exclusivity claim of the Church. Only by following and believing in Jesus, anyone will find their way to Heaven. Only by following and believing in Jesus, anyone will find rock-solid Truth for all natural and supernatural life. And only by following and believing in Jesus anyone can come to the Throne Room of God. If the Resurrection is the central event of Christianity, then THIS statement by Jesus is the central idea of Christianity.

““I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.14.12.NLT
As Christ-followers, Jesus promises that we will not only do what we have read about here, but even greater ‘exploits’. And if we look around at what has been built in the world; great cities, great works of art, great and useful inventions, etc. we can see what He was talking about (the First Commission). But this idea primarily speaks of the Church and the expansion of Christ-followers (the Great Commission). And it all continues, in spite of all of the destruction that Islam and other violent and destructive ideologies that surround us everywhere bring upon the world—because we WIN!

“Those who accept my commandments and obey them are the ones who love me. And because they love me, my Father will love them. And I will love them and reveal myself to each of them.””
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭21‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.14.21.NLT
It is not enough to believe. We also need to accept what Jesus commands from us, and then DO IT! Action and advocacy on our part is what is commanded here, not only belief.

“I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭25‬-‭27‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.14.25-27.NLT
He gives us the Holy Spirit to love us, and lead us, and teach us in this world until He comes.

“When Jesus came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?” Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.” “No,” Peter protested, “you will never ever wash my feet!” Jesus replied, “Unless I wash you, you won’t belong to me.””
‭‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭6‬-‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.13.6-8.NLT
All too frequently, in the most mundane sense, I get the prideful idea that I don’t need anyone to help me or do anything for me. However, the context of this passage is anything bu mundane! Jesus is saying farewell to His Disciples, and they still aren’t grasping that idea. So here Jesus is demonstrating first and foremost what He is doing for them and all of humanity by washing away the filth of their sin so they can enter Eternity with Him. Secondly, He is demonstrating what He esxpects from us in terms of serving others, which also includes the concept of leadership. If Jesus doesn’t wash you and you cannot wash others, you will remain tethered to what others think of you rather than your Heavenly Father — and that is a problem.

““I am not saying these things to all of you; I know the ones I have chosen. But this fulfills the Scripture that says, ‘The one who eats my food has turned against me.’ I tell you this beforehand, so that when it happens you will believe that I Am the Messiah.”
‭‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭18‬-‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.13.18-19.NLT
For anyone who claims that Jesus never claimed to be the , um….

“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.””

This is how the people outside our churches will know us: By the way we love the ones in our church. This is the New Mandate that we celebrate on Maundy Thursday each year, just before Resurrection Sunday. So this is a command to love our Christ-following brothers and sisters — first. But it is NOT permission to neglect the rest of our community and culture.

“Eber had two sons. The first was named Peleg (which means “division”), for during his lifetime the people of the world were divided into different language groups. His brother’s name was Joktan.”

“These are the kings who ruled in the land of Edom before any king ruled over the Israelites: Bela son of Beor, who ruled from his city of Dinhabah.”
‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭1‬:‭43‬ ‭NLT‬‬

All of the genealogies are listed because they are all descendants of Abraham. However, they are not part of the lineage of King David and Jesus, the Messiah.

“Judah had three sons from Bathshua, a Canaanite woman. Their names were Er, Onan, and Shelah. But the Lord saw that the oldest son, Er, was a wicked man, so he killed him. Later Judah had twin sons from Tamar, his widowed daughter-in-law. Their names were Perez and Zerah. So Judah had five sons in all. The sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul. The sons of Zerah were Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Darda—five in all. The son of Carmi (a descendant of Zimri) was Achan, who brought disaster on Israel by taking plunder that had been set apart for the Lord. The son of Ethan was Azariah. The sons of Hezron were Jerahmeel, Ram, and Caleb. Ram was the father of Amminadab. Amminadab was the father of Nahshon, a leader of Judah. Nahshon was the father of Salmon. Salmon was the father of Boaz. Boaz was the father of Obed. Obed was the father of Jesse. Jesse’s first son was Eliab, his second was Abinadab, his third was Shimea, his fourth was Nethanel, his fifth was Raddai, his sixth was Ozem, and his seventh was David.”

“When all the people heard of Jesus’ arrival, they flocked to see him and also to see Lazarus, the man Jesus had raised from the dead. Then the leading priests decided to kill Lazarus, too, for it was because of him that many of the people had deserted them and believed in Jesus.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬-‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.12.9-11.NLT
Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead and that got a lot of attention from the people around Jerusalem. Therefore, they crowded around to catch a glimpse of both of them. I suspect it was to confirm what they had heard, which probably seemed clear to them tha Jesus had the power to throw off their Roman oppressors. However, this was what they looked to Caiaphas and the High Council to do, or at least to keep the Romans at bay. But now the people had a new person to place their hope in. This is still the same today: People look to other people to save them from evil, but they are not capable and they usually end up ina power trip, just like Caiaphas and Pilate did.

“The next day, the news that Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem swept through the city. A large crowd of Passover visitors took palm branches and went down the road to meet him. They shouted,
“Praise God! Blessings on the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
Hail to the King of Israel!”
Jesus found a young donkey and rode on it, fulfilling the prophecy that said:
“Don’t be afraid, people of Jerusalem.
Look, your King is coming,
riding on a donkey’s colt.””
‭‭John‬ ‭12‬:‭12‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.12.12-15.NLT
“Praise God” is also interpreted as the more familiar word we hear on Palm Sunday, which is “Hosanna”. And that means, “Save now!”. So I suspect that n real-time, the people were seeing the man that raised someone from the dead and expecting Him to snap His fingers and throw off Rome in an instant. Therefore, it would seem that expectations had been set. The expectations were then, and are now reasonable and legitimate—and as we all know, Jesus does save us all in the instant we surrender to Him—just not THAT instant. Personally, I think it is that set of expectations by the people that leads to the quick turnaround from the public’s exuberance outside the city to the Crucifixion only 5 days later.

“His disciples didn’t understand at the time that this was a fulfillment of prophecy. But after Jesus entered into his glory, they remembered what had happened and realized that these things had been written about him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12‬:‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.12.16.NLT
This is Jesus’ “First Coming”, which refers to His arrival in Jerusalem recognized as God’s Son, or a King with God’s ordination. Isaiah and Zechariah had both prophesied about this moment in the TRUE progression of the kingdom (that is NOT ‘progressive’ in the current worldly sense, which is a counterfeit progression). This is also another reason why it is impossible to disconnect the Old Testament from the New Testament.

“Jesus replied, “Now the time has come for the Son of Man to enter into his glory. I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives. Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12‬:‭23‬-‭25‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.12.23-25.NLT
Jesus tells His disciples that the moment is at hand, so He tells them, and us today, what it means and the importance to humanity of what is about to happen. Look, when we surrender our lives to Jesus, we need to know that means we surrender everything, including our ‘next breath and heartbeat’, including our wellbeing and that of the people that count on us. Therefore, it is very important that we establish plans to be invoked if we are arrested or taken away for standing up for Jesus—or Heaven forbid—we are taken from here to Heaven suddenly for taking a stand against the counterfeit progressive culture.

““Now my soul is deeply troubled. Should I pray, ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But this is the very reason I came!”
‭‭John‬ ‭12‬:‭27‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.12.27.NLT
Jesus reveals His deeply human side here.

“The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, the ruler of this world, will be cast out. And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw everyone to myself.” He said this to indicate how he was going to die.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12‬:‭31‬-‭33‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.12.31-33.NLT
And Jesus keeps His purpose for coming to the earth foremost in His mind and in our view. When Jesus dies on the Cross, He completely obliterated satan’s reign over the earth and begins the age of Grace for drawing all people to Himself.

“I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12‬:‭47‬-‭48‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.12.47-48.NLT
Hey people, it doesn’t get any clearer than this!

“Along the way they found an Egyptian man in a field and brought him to David. They gave him some bread to eat and water to drink. They also gave him part of a fig cake and two clusters of raisins, for he hadn’t had anything to eat or drink for three days and nights. Before long his strength returned. “To whom do you belong, and where do you come from?” David asked him. “I am an Egyptian—the slave of an Amalekite,” he replied. “My master abandoned me three days ago because I was sick. We were on our way back from raiding the Kerethites in the Negev, the territory of Judah, and the land of Caleb, and we had just burned Ziklag.” “Will you lead me to this band of raiders?” David asked. The young man replied, “If you take an oath in God’s name that you will not kill me or give me back to my master, then I will guide you to them.””
‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭30‬:‭11‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/1sa.30.11-15.NLT
So the Amalekites raid and plunder Ziklag and David ultimately gives chase—ONLY after he consulted God and received His OK. And while they’re chasing them, he comes across a kid who they have literally discarded. And look what happens when David interrogates this guy. David only asks him who he belongs to, and where is he from. And this kid starts spilling his guts about everything that happened. Quite a coincidence, wouldn’t you say? Unless you don’t believe in coincidences.

“The Philistines closed in on Saul and his sons, and they killed three of his sons—Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malkishua. The fighting grew very fierce around Saul, and the Philistine archers caught up with him and wounded him severely. Saul groaned to his armor bearer, “Take your sword and kill me before these pagan Philistines come to run me through and taunt and torture me.” But his armor bearer was afraid and would not do it. So Saul took his own sword and fell on it.”
‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭31‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/1sa.31.2-4.NLT
The end of Saul. Os Guinness says, “Contrast is the mother of clarity.” Samuel started his career in humility responding to God by saying, “Speak Lord, your servant is listening.” Whereas Saul’s first act was one of pride and disobedience.

“A man named Lazarus was sick. He lived in Bethany with his sisters, Mary and Martha. This is the Mary who later poured the expensive perfume on the Lord’s feet and wiped them with her hair. Her brother, Lazarus, was sick.”
‭‭John‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Let this be a testimony AGAINST the idea that following Jesus means we will have a trouble free life! We will have the same experiences as the rest of humanity. However, we will experience the, differently. Which is to say, that we will transcend anything difficulty this fallen world sends our way. And in the process we will gain more wisdom and insight into Jesus and His works in the physical world.

“So he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead. And for your sakes, I’m glad I wasn’t there, for now you will really believe. Come, let’s go see him.” Thomas, nicknamed the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, “Let’s go, too—and die with Jesus.””
‭‭John‬ ‭11‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.11.14-16.NLT
The Resurrection from the dead is a critical aspect of our doctrine as Christ-followers. Without this aspect of our faith, Christianity is nothing more than another life philosophy. This demonstration of Jesus’ authority over the grave was proof to the 12 Disciples—and here for us too—that Jesus is exactly who He says He is, which is the Creator God of the Universe in human form.

“Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this, Martha?””
‭‭John‬ ‭11‬:‭25‬-‭26‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.11.25-26.NLT
Jesus tells Martha—and us, again, plainly—that He (not the serpent from the Garden) has authority over death. Not only that, but if we believe in Him we too will have Eternal Life with Him in Heaven someday. And likely sooner than any of us think…one way or another. Which means, we will either take our last breath, but we can’t possibly know when. Or, we will be caught-up to Heaven like Enoch, Elijah, and possibly Moses.

“Many of the people who were with Mary believed in Jesus when they saw this happen…

…Caiaphas, who was high priest at that time, said, “You don’t know what you’re talking about! You don’t realize that it’s better for you that one man should die for the people than for the whole nation to be destroyed.” He did not say this on his own; as high priest at that time he was led to prophesy that Jesus would die for the entire nation. And not only for that nation, but to bring together and unite all the children of God scattered around the world.”
‭‭John‬ ‭11‬:‭45‬, ‭49‬-‭52‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/jhn.11.45.NLT
Caiaphas was speaking to the Jewish High Council out of their self-interest. They were more interested in fitting Jesus into their vision of the world that conforming their perspective to that of Heaven. However, as tends to happen, Heaven moved Caiaphas to prophesy the very nature of the strategy of Heaven. He was being used by Heaven, but was blinded by his own ambitions and fears to that fact.

“About that time the Philistines mustered their armies for another war with Israel. King Achish told David, “You and your men will be expected to join me in battle.” “Very well!” David agreed. “Now you will see for yourself what we can do.” Then Achish told David, “I will make you my personal bodyguard for life.””
‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭28‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

David had a problem! However, God would ultimately solve it for him in 1 Samuel 29:4.

“Meanwhile, Samuel had died, and all Israel had mourned for him. He was buried in Ramah, his hometown. And Saul had banned from the land of Israel all mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. The Philistines set up their camp at Shunem, and Saul gathered all the army of Israel and camped at Gilboa. When Saul saw the vast Philistine army, he became frantic with fear. He asked the Lord what he should do, but the Lord refused to answer him, either by dreams or by sacred lots or by the prophets. Saul then said to his advisers, “Find a woman who is a medium, so I can go and ask her what to do.” His advisers replied, “There is a medium at Endor.””
‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭28‬:‭3‬-‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/1sa.28.3-7.NLT
Saul, on the other hand: Now that Samuel was dead, and Saul had banned all mediums from Israel, he was cornered and without any means of intelligence or support for wisdom and guidance. So he did what many of us do in desperate situations: He sought a counterfeit wisdom and direction; it was all he had! Sin will ultimately lead us to that point—unless we repent completely!

“But the Philistine commanders demanded, “What are these Hebrews doing here?” And Achish told them, “This is David, the servant of King Saul of Israel. He’s been with me for years, and I’ve never found a single fault in him from the day he arrived until today.” But the Philistine commanders were angry. “Send him back to the town you’ve given him!” they demanded. “He can’t go into the battle with us. What if he turns against us in battle and becomes our adversary? Is there any better way for him to reconcile himself with his master than by handing our heads over to him?”
‭‭1 Samuel‬ ‭29‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

David’s problem solved by the Philistine kings themselves!

“You have rejected us, O God, and broken our defenses. You have been angry with us; now restore us to your favor… But you have raised a banner for those who fear you— a rallying point in the face of attack. Interlude”

The church in this country is weak, ineffective and useless! The latest AWVI-2026 is proof positive of this FACT! Jesus, HELP!

“But Moab, my washbasin, will become my servant, and I will wipe my feet on Edom and shout in triumph over Philistia.””
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭60‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
https://bible.com/bible/116/psa.60.8.NLT

“Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who will bring me victory over Edom? Have you rejected us, O God? Will you no longer march with our armies? Oh, please help us against our enemies, for all human help is useless. With God’s help we will do mighty things, for he will trample down our foes.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭60‬:‭9‬-‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Amen!

Proverbs that stood out today:

“Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise. Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair. These proverbs will give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young.”

“You ignored my advice and rejected the correction I offered. So I will laugh when you are in trouble! I will mock you when disaster overtakes you— when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster engulfs you like a cyclone, and anguish and distress overwhelm you.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭1‬:‭25‬-‭27‬ ‭NLT‬‬
