I received a message back in May regarding an opportunity for a community collaboration with The City of Kalamazoo, The Eastside Neighborhood Association. Today, volunteers young and old gathered to paint and assemble 10 Little Free Libraries specifically meant for the eastside of KALAMAZOO. ❤️☺️ The Art of Planting Little Free Libraries-Kalamazoo provided 120 diverse books to get them started!!

We now need to identify potential locations here on the eastside to plant them. Please offer suggestions below in the comments.

The final Little Free Library Read In Color library in collaboration with our The Art of Planting Little Free Libraries-Kalamazoo network has been successfully planted!

Now that Spring is officially in the air we are excited to begin sprucing up and restocking our libraries around town.

We are in search of someone who is willing to do some small repairs, pro bono, on a few of our existing libraries (see video in the comments). Inbox us if interested. Thanks!!

Cub Pack 256, along with Troop 292, hosted a book drive for the Art Of Planting Little Free Libraries Kalamazoo.

Quote: “Cub pack 256 is working on their Messengers of Peace Badge. We choose the non profit, The Art of Planting Little Free Libraries Kalamazoo. Our goal is to bring books into Kalamazoo neighborhoods that are considered book deserts. Some of these libraries are refilled every 2 weeks during the summertime. That is more then 6 times for just 1 library. Please come on Saturday, May 6th from 10am-12pm at Winchell Elementary (we will be in the turn around). We will be taking new/gently used children's/young adult books. Thank you everyone for the donations for The Art of Planting Little Free Libraries-Kalamazoo!! Pack 256 along with Troop 292, collected 14 boxes 😇. We even had books come in all the way from Texas!”
