At The Davies Project, a ride is so much !

It’s true that we provide free rides to medical appointments for children with a serious health condition, pregnant women, and for parents with a baby in the NICU.

But our drivers also provide CONNECTION, support, and care for these families facing an incredible burden. Community support is everything!

Did you know that volunteer drivers with The Davies Project can choose to receive mileage reimbursement?

Drivers are eligible to be reimbursed at the federal rate of $0.70 per passenger mile, paid monthly! It’s one more way we try to make volunteering accessible while helping families get to the care they need.

You choose your availability, use your own vehicle, and become part of a compassionate network of people making a real difference in Kalamazoo County.

Meet Amy D, our Volunteer Coordinator in Kalamazoo County!

Amy plays a BIG role in helping The Davies Project grow in this community by recruiting and onboarding volunteers, building local partnerships, and spreading the word about our services through outreach, networking, and local events.

Her connection to this work is also deeply personal. Amy’s children experienced an extended NICU stay, followed by many important appointments with specialists after coming home. Those visits were ongoing and essential to their development and well-being, giving her a firsthand understanding of how important reliable transportation and support can be for families navigating similar challenges.

As Amy said, “I became involved with the Davies Project because I wanted to invest my time in something significant and to create a positive effect on families’ lives.”

We’re so grateful to have her helping lead this work in Kalamazoo County. Leave some love on this post to help us welcome Amy!
