Have you been to a holiday parade in the Kalamazoo area?

The holiday parade organizing team is helping a WMU research team connect with people who attended the 2025 Maple Hill Holiday Parade, also known as the Kalamazoo Holiday Parade, to share their experiences in a 10-minute survey study.

They are a research team at Western Michigan University, and their goal is to better understand what community events like this mean to the people who attend them and to the communities that host them.

Who can participate?
• Are 18 years old or older
• Attended the 2025 Maple Hill Holiday Parade / Kalamazoo Holiday Parade

Compensation:
Survey participants may enter a drawing for a $200 gift card. Participants who are selected for an optional follow-up interview will receive $25.

On behalf of the Maple Hill Holiday Parade, Maple Hill Auto Group has been the underwriter of this significant and hallmark event for more years than most realize. Back in the 1990's they stepped up and helped to secure the parade's importance downtown. Since then they never waivered and actually challenged organizers to "step it up" and make it better. And, they wrote the checks to make it happen. This is community and it is the power of believability of what happens when businesses open their checkbooks to support community events.

We have been assured that the parade will be supported, engaged, and delivered to Downtown Kalamazoo with the commitment that has always been there. We know that in November, the team at Fox Maple Hill will also be at the front of the parade making sure that we step off with the excitement that drives the holiday parade to be so successful and an ongoing tradition for kicking off the holiday season here in Southwest Michigan.

Again, we want to thank (from the bottoms of our hearts) the VandenBerg family for being the backbone of the Kalamazoo Holiday Parade. The entrepreneurial spirit that guides major events is indeed why Kalamazoo comes together to build better places to live, work, and believe.

It's official…

The winner of the 2025 Maple Hill Holiday Parade's "Best Unit" for a non-profit organization is Pray For Kalamazoo!

Pray For Kalamazoo spread joy and cheer with their float and banner. They took care to incorporate the organization's mission into their unit while still turning up the holiday spirit!

Congratulations to Pray For Kalamazoo for getting the most votes for "Best Unit" for a non-profit organization at the 2025 Maple Hill Holiday Parade!
