✨ VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: TIYS Clothing Co. ✨
One of my favorite parts of running Aloha Home Market is getting to watch our vendors grow.
I met Maria, the owner of TIYS Clothing Co., when she first moved to Hawai‘i and started participating in our markets. Since then, it has been so much fun watching her business evolve and expand into multiple locations — and now she’s even sharing what she’s learned along the way to help other entrepreneurs grow their businesses. 🤍
And if you follow Maria, you know why I love her content. 😂 She’s funny, honest, relatable, and gives such a real behind-the-scenes look at what it actually takes to run a small business and sell at markets.
I recently asked her how moving to Hawai‘i impacted her brand, and I loved her answer.
When Maria first arrived, it took some time to figure out what shoppers here were looking for. Instead of creating a generic “beach brand,” she started paying attention to what people were actually connecting with and became much more intentional with her designs.
That shift helped her refine TIYS Clothing, create pieces around the interests and lifestyle of her customers, and even inspired her to launch a kids collection!
Her advice for newer vendors is something every entrepreneur can learn from:
“Listen to your customers and don’t be afraid to tweak things as you go.”
Pay attention to what people gravitate toward. Listen to feedback. Be open to outside input. And don’t feel like you have to have everything figured out from day one.
Your business can evolve as you learn more about your customers.
