Here in Hawaii, you’ve probably heard people say “pau hana.” This is a term echoed by the locals that literally means “finished with work.” (Pau = done or finished and hana = work.) This is the unofficial Hawaiian phrase for happy hour, after-work hangouts, or celebrating the end to a hard day’s (or week’s) work!

It isn’t just about food or drinks, though—it’s about remembering to stay balanced, to slow down, relax and connect with friends and family. This will be the theme of the Wine Down/Happy Hour sub club, which will meet once every 3-4 weeks on Fridays, with the option for members to plan their own wine night or happy hour hangout ANY Friday in between! 🥂

If you’d like to join us for a casual “pau hana” happy hour, you can meet us on Sept 4th at Uahi Grill in Kailua. Register on our website & send us a message if you have any questions. 🍻

📣 Who’s ready for another year of KOSC Pickleball??

We would love to bring Pickleball back this year, but before we start scheduling dates, we’re trying to get a feel for interest and would love your input! (We would especially like to hear from last year’s Pickleball regulars!)

**If you would like to play this season, leave a 🏓 in the comments!

Then tell us:

🏓 What days would work best for you?
🏓 Do you prefer mornings (9-11 am) or evenings (5-7 pm)?
🏓 Are you a beginner, intermediate or experienced/advanced player?
🏓 Do you have your own paddle?
🏓 Do you have a portable net that you could bring?

We would really like to bring this group back and are hoping to build a schedule that works for everyone!

Where are our ladies who love mimosas & breakfast food, enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sun set over the ocean, or meeting up for a midweek lunch??🍹🍔 These sub clubs are for you!

We need *9* volunteers to sign up to be “hosts” for each group though. If you’re unsure of what that means, it’s super easy—we promise! As the host, all you have to do is find a spot that you would like to go out to eat/drink and call to make a reservation on behalf of the group. That could mean doing some TikTok research to find hidden gems in Waikiki with an amazing upscale atmosphere, or picking a casual go-to fave close to base like Maui Brewing Co or Cinnamon’s. It could also mean simply inviting the group over to your house to share drinks in comfy clothes on your lanai. When you are the host, you get to decide!

We need *9* members to sign up to be a host so that each person only has to commit to ONE month (Sept-May)! If you’re interested in participating, or you would like to join one of these groups, drop us a comment below and we’ll send you an invitation link! 🌺
