A memorable night at Koolau Lodge!

Our Brethren gathered Wednesday evening for our Stated Communication, beginning with an early meal together. We then opened early so two Fellowcrafts could present their proficiencies, followed by a brief business meeting.

The highlight came next when we raised a new Brother to the sublime degree of Master Mason. One of our officers presided in the East for the qualification work and performed exemplarily.

The evening closed with a Bible presentation to our newly raised Brother and to the Brother we raised a few weeks ago. Congratulations to both on this milestone!

Fun and Fellowship at Koolau Distillery last night was a great evening. Entered Apprentices, Fellowcrafts, Master Masons, and Past Masters all gathered together, and we were glad to welcome a visiting Brother from Atlanta, Georgia.

The live music was outstanding, and the Yang's Taiwan Street Food setup was delicious.

Mahalo to Koolau Distillery and Yang's Taiwan Street Food for a wonderful night, and to every Brother who came out.

What a great evening at Koʻolau Lodge! Before getting to work, the Brethren sat down to an authentic Brazilian dinner prepared by one of our petitioners: feijoada, farofa, white rice, roasted plantains, fresh vinaigrette, and orange slices on the side. Mahalo for a generous and delicious welcome to the table.

After dinner, we held a practice for our upcoming Third Degree on Wednesday, October 7th, which will follow a brief stated meeting. Several Brothers are also putting in the work to build their proficiency as they prepare for greater responsibility in the Lodge. It was a productive night of fellowship and preparation.

Wednesday evening, the Brethren of Koʻolau Lodge F & AM gathered for a light and easy stated communication. Business moved quickly, leaving plenty of room for good conversation and good company.

There were also a few Brothers who were in new seats last night - thanks for stepping up!

We were glad to welcome a first time visitor to the Lodge, a newly raised Master Mason paying his very first visit to any Lodge since receiving the degrees. It's always a pleasure to have a new Brother choose Koʻolau as his first stop.

Dinner didn't disappoint either: homemade lasagna, garlic bread, a mixed salad, and dessert, all made by hand and well received by everyone in the room.

Mahalo to everyone who came out. Up next: a 3rd Degree conferral on Wednesday, September 16.

Last Wednesday evening, the Brethren of Koʻolau Lodge F & AM gathered for a home-cooked dinner of chicken pot pie and apple pie before settling in for a Lodge of Instruction.

Our Lodge Inspector from the Grand Lodge walked the Brethren through floorwork and rod work, and the discussion that followed was lively, with plenty of good questions and thoughtful answers.

The turnout was strong, and dinner did not stand a chance. The homemade meal from start to finish was completely demolished.

Mahalo to everyone who came out to sharpen their skills and enjoy the fellowship. Up next: Fun and Fellowship at Koolau Distillery next week, our regular stated communication to follow, and a 3rd Degree on Wednesday, September 16.

Aloha Brothers and friends of the fraternity!

This past Wednesday, July 29th, Koʻolau Lodge F & AM gathered for a Special Meeting to confer the 2nd Degree of Masonry, and what a night it was. Two Brothers advanced together in a meaningful step on their Masonic journey, surrounded by the support and fellowship of nearly 20 Brothers who turned out to share in the occasion. As always, the evening closed with a wonderful meal together: venison, bison, lamb, and beef burgers with all the fixings, plus dessert to top it off.

Grateful for the Brotherhood that makes nights like this so special.

The Grand Lodge of Hawaii was proudly represented at the 77th Kailua Independence Day Parade, where more than 50 Masons and members of the Family of Freemasonry gathered in a joyful show of brotherhood, community, and patriotic spirit. With the parade theme, “Stronger Together,” our participation reflected the best of who we are: men, women, and youth united in service, fellowship, and love for our island communities.

The Grand Master was in attendance, joined by brethren from several lodges, including Ko`olau Lodge, Hawaiian Lodge F&AM, Honolulu Masonic Lodge, and Schofield Lodge F & AM. We were also pleased to march alongside members of the Aloha Shriners, Order of Eastern Star, Ladies Oriental Shrine N American , DeMolay, Daughters of the Nile, and Rainbow Girls, making this one of our largest Masonic turnouts in recent years.

A special highlight was the chartered trolley, thoughtfully arranged by a Brother, which allowed our kupuna members and those with mobility challenges to take part comfortably and safely.

Mahalo to all who participated, supported, and cheered along the parade route. Together, we showed Kailua the strength, warmth, and enduring spirit of Hawaii Freemasonry.

Schofield Lodge F & AM

Join Ko`olau Lodge F & AM and the Family of Freemasons in walking in the 77th Annual Kailua Independence Day Parade, this Saturday, July 4.

Masonic groups will meet at the intersection of UILAMA ST and KAINALU DR about 9:00 am. We are currently Group 53, but that is subject to change.

The parade starts about 9:45am, continues along Kainalu Dr. for about 1.5 miles and will be over by 11:30am.

Park or get dropped off near Kailua District Park. Catch the shuttle bus at Kailua Intermediate School, and ride to the starting point. Come early because the buses fill up and it may be difficult to get on board. (You can also walk to the starting point.)

Wear comfortable walking shoes, long pants and a collared shirt. Ko`olau Lodge will not be wearing aprons this year. Don't forget your sunscreen.
