1.

As an organization with more than 5,000,000 members worldwide, we have the opportunity and the duty to make things better for our children. As military community members, we’re given a special charge to ensure that the environments that our children are in are safe, supportive, and fair across the board. Provide support to parents, teachers and students at Mokapu Elementary School through fundrais

ers and events. The Mokapu PTA will strive to maintain the national standard ration of three (3) events for every one (1) fundraiser.
2. The Mokapu PTA will provide family friendly events designed to unite the school and community in a fun, interactive and educational environment.
3. The Mokapu PTA will strongly support student enrichment by providing volunteers and funding for extra-curricular activities as well as developing and maintain a strong school wide support program for the National PTA Reflections program.
4. The Mokapu PTA will set aside money annually for campus improvement and beautification.
5. The Mokapu PTA will work closely with the Mokapu Elementary School staff to form a cohesive and cooperative venture with which to educate the student population.

Mokapu Elementary students are back at school tomorrow (Wednesday August 19th)! Don't forget that there's no school on Friday the 21st 💙

Mōkapu Elementary Families,

Mōkapu Elementary will be open tomorrow, and we look forward to welcoming our students back. There are no changes to our schedule; tomorrow will be a standard 7:50 AM to 1:15 PM school day.

Please note that our breakfast and lunch menus have been updated as follows:
Wednesday, 8/19: Breakfast - Pancake Bites; Lunch - Cheese Bites
Thursday, 8/20: Breakfast - Turkey/Cheese Sandwich; Lunch - Ulu Stew
We will see you tomorrow! Don't forget that Friday is a Holiday!

No students tomorrow at Mokapu Elementary - continue staying safe, everyone!

Mōkapu Elementary Families,

For Tuesday, August 18, 2026, all schools in the Kailua-Kalāheo Complex will be open except Aikahi Elementary, Mōkapu Elementary, and Kalāheo High School, which will remain closed to students due to the continued effects of power outages resulting from Hurricane Lala.

The ongoing power outage prevents us from safely preparing and serving meals to students. All Mōkapu Elementary School staff will report to work as scheduled, except casual employees.

Plans are in place to provide food service on Wednesday and Thursday even if the power outage continues, which will allow us to move toward reopening for students while power restoration efforts continue.

We appreciate your patience and understanding and will provide an update regarding Wednesday's operations as soon as additional information becomes available.

Hawaii public schools will be closed on Monday August 17th. Stay safe, everyone!

Following assessments of school campuses and surrounding community conditions, the Hawaiʻi State Department of Education (HIDOE) will keep public schools and offices closed statewide on Monday, Aug. 17.

The additional closure will allow time to complete campus safety assessments, restore utilities where necessary and address storm-related impacts.

The Department will continue working with county and state partners and will provide updates regarding Tuesday's operations as additional information becomes available.

Previously announced extended closures on Hawai‘i Island for Nā‘ālehu Elementary and Ka‘ū High & Pāhala Elementary School remain in effect.

Just a reminder that the Mōkapu PTA 2026–2027 Executive Board Election meeting will be held tomorrow, May 12th, 2026, at 8:00 AM at Mōkapu Elementary School.
Positions open include President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.
