Regatta #3 took us to the beautiful shores of Nānākuli Beach for an unforgettable Father’s Day, hosted by Leeward Kai Canoe Club and Oahu Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association.

Mahalo to our hosts, the volunteers, officials, and every club that came together to make another incredible day of racing.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, grandfathers, and father figures in our paddling ʻohana. Thank you for the guidance, encouragement, and countless hours you give both on and off the water.

And we’re off! 💙💛

Mahalo nui to Healani Canoe Club and Oahu Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association for hosting the Clement D. Paiʻaina Regatta and bringing our paddling ʻohana together for the first regatta of the 2026 season 🙏

We’re grateful for all the work that goes into making race day happen—from planning and organizing to officials, volunteers, safety crews, boat holders, coaches, paddlers, and oʻhana.

It was awesome to be back on the line, sharing the water with our ʻohana clubs and representing Kailua with heart, grit, and pride.

Great start to the season, everyone — let’s keep building from here.

Members of our KCC ʻohana spent the day getting our hands dirty and our feet muddy at Hookuaaina at Kapalai, helping mālama the loʻi and giving back to the ʻāina that nourishes our community.

As paddlers, we spend countless hours connected to the ocean, but our relationship with Hawaiʻi extends from the mountains to the sea. Days like this remind us that caring for the land and caring for each other are all part of the same journey.

Mahalo nui to the team at Hoʻokuaʻāina for welcoming us and sharing their ʻike, and mahalo to all the volunteers who showed up ready to work with true laulima and aloha.

The strength of our waʻa begins long before we launch—it starts with community, stewardship, and service.

Our club blessing is a meaningful cultural experience that marks the start of our racing season. Hawaiian culture is rich with ancient ceremony and protocol. Our blessing honors our canoes and the people, places, and moʻolelo that make up our club: our ancestors, founders, kūpuna, paddlers, coaches, and everyone who helps guide Kailua Canoe Club.

Welcome to the 2026 Pre-Season! After some tough weather forced earlier cancellations, it was incredible to finally get back out on the water with our ʻohana clubs and share some great racing together. The energy, teamwork, and spirit across the crews have been awesome to see—this is what it’s all about.
