It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of Joey Avicolli—a beloved husband, father, son, friend, and member of our paddling ʻohana. Joey passed away while paddling in Lanikai, doing something he loved and surrounded by friends who cared deeply for him. He paddled with Kailua Canoe Club for many years, most recently with our Open Men and Masters 40s, and was a valued part of our club and community.
Joey leaves behind his wife, Kehaulani; daughter, Piʻi; son, Kuaohu; and mother, Angela. His sudden loss has brought tremendous heartbreak and disbelief to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. His presence, friendship, and spirit will be deeply missed.
In the days and months ahead, there are several ways we can come together to support Kehau and the children as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Please visit the link below for information on how you can offer your support to Joey’s ʻohana:

Mahalo for surrounding Joey’s family with the same aloha, strength, and support that define our KCC ʻohana.
